Our first time there and will definitely be going back. Reminded us of the food we had when we traveled to Spain. Loved the tapas and the cava brut!

Took my daughter here at her request as she has been in the Basque region of Spain on a vacation recently. The food was excellent and freshly prepared. Small plates shared by four of us was delightful.

El Basque is a restaurant we have been wanting to go to since they opened their doors. Finally Mother’s Day not crowded at all as do many other restaurants in town get on special occasions. Appetizers were fantastic had Spanish omelet with a favorable Spanish cheese melted into it chorizo others had a variety of Pixtos tapas that they said were delicious. Red wine from Spain of course a number to choose from which we choose the Tempranillo very dry matched well with appetizers. And of course sangria red wine Main entree courses 2 Paella dishes a chicken and a seafood 2 orders black ink pasta with assorted seafoods clams mussels squid shrimp scallops and a entree of double steamed cod fish all dishes with a 5 stars thumbs up rating. After dinner an americano and espresso plus the burnt cheese cake very well prepared and served with whipped cream on the side. Must return soon and try the HH 4-5pm very short lived maybe in future be longer we found this small quaint restaurant to be a pleasant surprise it’s food services and owner who waited on us gave advise on the entree dishes the Pixtos and appetizers. Great restaurant and within the norm cost wise for the area today

El Basque is one of our new favorite restaurants. The restaurant combines inspiration from Spanish and French Nouveau Cuisine. Tucked away in the Prado Shopping Center in Bonita Springs you might tend to overlook it. But don’t! You will have a wonderful dinner and a delightful experience. The owners have done an amazing job of creating the most beautiful setting. Hung gallery style, the walls feature the owners’ wife’s stunning artwork (to my eye, reminiscent of Renoir and Manet). The dining room is intimate and cozy with cushioned banquettes and soft pillows. Very romantic. Tired of noisy restaurants? This setting is small and quiet enough to have a conversation. Most important is an amazing menu. Tonight, our third visit, the four of us selected from the extremely reasonable Early Bird menu. The server was gracious and knowledgeable about every dish and the accompanying wines. Appetizers and main courses were all delicious. To finish - we all ordered the Belle Helene dessert. The restaurant’s version of the famous Escoffier-created dish (in honor of the opera La Belle Helene) featured poached pears in a choux pastry, covered with hot fudge and topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. We were in heaven. If you’ve never tried El Basque you need to try it now. And if you couldn’t get a reservation before, with season over you will be able get one now. Like us, you’ll love this little gem of a restaurant.

This was our 3rd time dining here and it did not disappoint. We keep coming back and trying new things. Notable this time were the shrimp & bacon and octopus small plates and the almond torte for dessert. We’ll be back again to try more things!!
