   The first time was excellent, sat at the bar. Food, service and atmosphere was great. This was our second time at El Carlos Elegante on Christmas Eve. Made reso a few weeks ahead and the earliest we could get was 8:30pm. Little did we know they closed at 10pm on Christmas Eve. You would think this wouldn’t be a problem if you had reservations at 8:30.. last call for alcohol was at 9pm, which was ridiculous considering they were seating other tables at 9pm. We felt rushed by the server the entire time and they were pushing us out the door around 10:15pm. Any other night I’m sure this wouldn’t have been the case but at least let your 8pm and later reservations know last call will be at 9pm so we can decide to go elsewhere.

   We have been here a few times now and every time our experience has been 5 stars. From the valet to the dessert! Tonight we had the refried lentils, Caesar salad (a must have), the El Machete and the absolute best chicken dish we’ve ever had! The service is over the top too! If you haven’t been here, treat yourself and go!

   I’ve been here several times. I always leave happy and looking forward to going back again. Tonight we all did the El Carlos Experience. Great food. Ambience. Service. Top shelf!! I am already looking forward to the next time. Everyone had a blast and more than enlightened to eat. DEFINITELY going back.

   We went to El Carlos Elegante and were blown away on all levels by the quality of this restaurant. I felt like I was transported out of the “food scene” of Dallas to a genuine culinary experience that was about more than just food OR feeling. It was elegant, yet homey, delicious and well thought out. I felt like i was being hosted by the staff, not simply served. It’s clear this is place that is about serving people and going beyond the expectation. This easily climbed to one of my favorite restaurants, second only to Pasqual’s in Santa Fe NM. Great work, El Carlos!

   Another great meal and experience at El Carlos Elegante! We started with cocktails, Cherry Moon and Negroni Cafe, and both were great. The one-hitters, Surf + Turf and Brisket, were exceptional. Don’t miss those two! The Salmon Ceviche and Okra + Shishitos were spot on as usual. We rounded out our meal with a hand-made masa, Chorizo Molotes, which was delicious. Nice crunch on the masa, stuffed with chorizo and refried beans and served with warm salsa roja. The atmosphere was cozy and festive at the same time. To add to the fun, the restaurant was tastefully decorated for the holidays. We’ll definitely be back. A “go-to” restaurant for us. The food and service never disappoints.

   Duro Hospitality continues to impress! We came for a birthday dinner and had a great night! The food was excellent- the crab cakes, octopus, and shishito peppers were standouts. Service was a bit slow, but very friendly and they ended up comping one of our dishes. We mentioned it was a birthday dinner for two people at the table and they brought out two desserts that were also comped (and delicious - the key lime and the Mexican chocolate). Overall would be happy to go back, but will plan for a longer meal. The restaurant was also quite loud and would be difficult to enjoy for anyone who is hard of hearing.

    We had a fantastic experience at El Carlos Elegante. The food, service, and ambiance were all 10 out of 10. We especially enjoyed our table sat right by the fireplace which made for a cozy festive meal. Can’t wait to come back again.
