First visit on Friday and we loved it! The singer was the best part!! But the food and cocktails were also great!!

We were really looking forward to visiting El Jefe, Edinburgh after all the hype on social media. However, the food and service were poor in comparison to the other Mexican restaurants in Edinburgh. We were left disappointed. 🙁

The service was the only shining light here. Food was cold and unpleasant. Chipotle BBQ wings were incredibly dry and lacked any real flavour. The tacos were luke warm at best. Overall food was a real let down. May be because it is the festival and they are very busy. It seems menu has been reduced to facilitate that. Price was expensive for what you get. Better Mexicans in Edinburgh, which are better value. Wouldn’t rush back.

We booked for a meal to Celebrate my birthday and honestly can’t be more thankful to the lovely girl who served us. Everything was delicious and the service was excellent. We will definitely be back soon

I ordered a vegan burrito and it came out with cheese in it, which I discovered after my first bite. This was rectified but not a great experience. There was a band which meant I couldn’t talk to my friends during our meal. I appreciate it is the festival in Edinburgh but the restaurant is too small for a loud band during meal service. Overall, very disappointed and will not go back or recommend.

Food was ok, taco’s were fantastic, but the guacamole was very poor and pardon peppers also, so overall a wouldn’t rush to come back, staff very friendly,

Had a lovely visit with it’s my friend not lots to choose on menu but what we both have was lovely . Very nice attentive staff will recommend and def visit again thank you .
