El Pinto is open for outdoor covered patio dining and indoor seating.

Open daily. Monday through Thursday from 11am-9pm. Friday & Saturday 11am-10pm. Sunday 10:30am-9pm.

Nestled in the cottonwoods, El Pinto was founded with 10 tables in 1962. Twin brothers John and Jim Thomas, carry on the family tradition and have expanded El Pinto into the quintessential "Spot" for healthy and fresh New Mexican cuisine. Experience an authentic Taste of New Mexico.

The Salsa Twins are pairing tradition with innovative healthy nutrition at El Pinto. El Pinto established the first and only Animal Welfare Approved laying hen program on property. 250 hens lay pasture raised eggs for daily use. An onsite green house produces over 5,000 lbs of organically grown greens.

Freshness is throughout El Pinto. El Pinto uses chile from Hatch, NM, pasture raised pork from Kyzer Farms, and local grass fed beef.

The margarita I had was expensive and too sweet and almost no taste of tequila. Our server offered to bring a new one which was only marginally better. I had chile rellenos with green chile. The green chile was chopped and mixed with out of season tasteless tomatoes rather than prepared as a sauce. Not very good. The guacamole and the calabacitas were good. We are originally from Albuquerque and are in town visiting family. We’ve been to El Pinto many times over the years. Overall, we were disappointed in the food.

I had made reservation for 5, weeks in advance. We arrived on time and were sat in an area that looked like we were walking through a kitchen or service area. At the table where we sat the chairs were arranged oddly. When about to sit down, I realized that our table was actually two round tables forming a circle eight, with at least one of two extra chairs crowding my own and not even looking at my party. I moved this chair away and sat in such way that I and my wife were away from the rest of my party, as if we were sitting at a separate table, which we were.

We had a reservation for 6, we were seated right away. Drinks came out right away and we ordered food. Everything was delicious especially the red chili ribs and enchiladas. Our waitress was very good and efficient (wish I’d caught her name)

Great restaurant, great service… only complaint is the fact they charge a service fee to use a credit card. Even though they have also increased prices of meals. I understand the increase on meals, but get rid of the “convenience fee” since they do not have to handle cash.
