   Wonderful night out to celebrate Valentine’s Day at this beautiful restaurant. The owner and server we lovely and helped us orient the menu. Great cocktails and various mezze that kicked off the night and then lamb shank, two different salmon and one scallop entree to round out the meal.

   Decided to give Elaine’s a try on restaurant week last night. Because of some of the mixed reviews, I didn’t really have much in terms of expectations but I will say, my hummus, beef stew and baklava were all very good. The owner greeted us and explained that the restaurant was a homage to her grandmother which I thought was lovely. Our service was great and the pistachio martini was the best drink I have had in Old Town in a long time!

   Elaine’s ambiance was superb but it stops there. Due to Restaurant week, reservations were double booked and the food was very underwhelming. You could tell the kitchen and staff were not ready for the onslaught of customers. The staff did their best to accommodate but it was generally a lack luster experience. I’m not sure we’ll return.

   We actually didn’t know it was restaurant week so we were a little surprised that there was a limited menu but it turned out to be excellent. The service was great and every one of the three courses delicious. Nice cocktail and wine selection. Only negative is the seating. They have a modern version of I would categorize as a captains chair with wrap around arms. Not comfortable. Too low and not enough padding. We saw other patrons kind of wiggling around to try to get comfortable. But aside from that a great experience.

    Great food, Mediterranean + ME fusion. Creative cocktails. Cozy feel, and service was attentive and helpful with menu selections.
