   An excellent first visit at this location. The service staff were so accommodating and thoughtful. The host took note of our birthday and celebrations and they brought out a special treat and the most adorable display of bubbles. We will be back!

   Within walking distance of War Memorial Opera House. Excellent food, nice presentation. Service was top notch. We really enjoyed the flaming sushi. It was different and delicious.

   Awful New Year’s Eve dinner. Even though we had reservations and my party was there on time we needed to wait more than one hour to be sat on hour table. Restaurant was packed so the waiting was outside in a cold night. We were offered a glass of champagne as a tentative of apology that didn’t include my child at all. Besides, my stepdaughter and I felt slightly sick in the stomach after the meal. For a bill of $684, there is a lot more that the restaurant have to offer to meet any standard of quality.

   Horrible experience will not be returning. Reservation was at 8 and we were still not seated by 9pm. Hostess was rude and we left.

   Our experience was New Year’s Eve night. At the time of securing the reservation it wasn’t clear that there was a New Year’s Eve prix fix menu until we received a text the morning of New Year’s Eve saying that there would be one and that we needed to keep our experience to 90 min max bc the restaurant would turning tables quick. We arrive and immediately sit down, order drinks which come quick and ordered the prix fixe menu option we wanted. We didn’t get our first course until an hour later and ended up being there for 2.5 hours. About half way through our experience the hostess began handing out their regular menu to guests who were just sitting down, which was a bummer to see because we weren’t satisfied with the prix fixe menu options so we would have wanted the regular menu as well. We also noticed one table didn’t get their nigiri and sashimi course. We could tell the hostess was stressed and the staff was confused about why regular menus were getting passed out. We had not been to Elephant sushi before and likely won’t be back. There are plenty of high end sushi restaurants in SF to try.

   very good as usual. we arrived a little early and got seated right away. Hostess told us they had a NYE special menu but regular menu was also available. after sitting down, our waitress explained it differently. Either order from the prix fixe menu or some special items for that night! we didn't know about the set menu when booking the table so we explained that we only wanted our usual favorites. the waitress went to the kitchen and came back later and agreed to the few items we wanted. I wish this app allows the restaurant to put down specific information related to a reservation, such as "prix fixe menu only for NYE", this way we could avoid this confusion from last night.

   I have loved Elephant sushi every time I’ve been there but last night it just wasn’t up to their standards. The tempura was mushy. The black card was out of this world but the salmon color just was not that good and I was really disappointed. Maybe too many people came in at the same time in the kitchen was very busy, but just was not up to to the quality that I had
