   Street work made access hard to find. We called and the seating hostess was extremely helpful giving us directions and staying on the phone with us.

   We love the Inn at Carnall Hall, but we were very disappointed by the reservation on May 11. It was an after 12 noon reservation so we thought it would be a regular menu but it was a buffet all day. The food was not fresh; it had been sitting for a while and was not good at all. The desserts were lovely. Atmosphere was clean and the staff was pleasant but for a Mother's Day brunch, flowers at the tables and perhaps a complementary glass of champagne for mom would have been nice. The price was $65+ each plus drinks. We spent $700 for 7 people and we would have been happier at a fast food restaurant.

   Had a breakfast meeting on the front porch overlooking the University of Arkansas' Ole Main building. It is a beautiful setting that can't be beat on a Spring day.

   A good experience for my first time at Ella's. My server Dylan was pleasant and professional. The Caesar salad was well prepared. The blackened salmon (which I requested to be "lightly blackened") was excellent. The rice and mushrooms that accompanied the salmon was well seasoned and quite tasty. Overall a nice experience.

   We had late reservations for Easter brunch/lunch and the food was cold and limited. It was clear by the time we arrived they were no longer refilling anything. No ice cream remaining for Apple dessert. Potatoes undercooked. Macaroni and cheese was dry and sticky like it has been out too long. They were clearing the buffet off 30 minutes after our reservation started.

   It was wonderful in every way. We had our Easter lunch which was a grand buffet with every type food you can imagine. From salads, to shrimp cocktail, to full breakfast choices, to carving stations (and the portion sizes were the most generous I’ve experienced), to veggies, and all types of breads, and a big dessert table. The service was friendly and although it was a busy time, the people-flow was great and the noise level was low.

   For $65 per person I would expect a grander buffet. We had 9:45 reservations, were seated and told buffet doesn’t open until 10. Why was I able to make a 9:45 reservation?

   In reading other reviews, didn’t have great expectations for the food, but was expecting good service. Our experience was completely the opposite. Well we thought the food was really good, the service was horrible. We were all hungry when we arrived so we ordered the bread basket for an appetizer thinking it would come out quickly. I’m not sure if our server forgot to put the order in, but after an hour with it not showing up, having already ordered entrées, we asked about it, and she said the kitchen was backed up and it would be out soon. While there were several other tables, they certainly weren’t all full, so I’m not sure why the kitchen would have been so backed up. We canceled the bread and our entrées came out about an hour and 15 minutes after we ordered them. That wouldn’t have been as big of an issue if we were at least getting drink service. We sat with empty waters and empty cocktails because our server never came around to ask if we would like another one. She didn’t seem very knowledgeable about the menu so maybe she was new and will get better with time. I hope so.

    We had a wonderful evening celebrating our 45th anniversary with our son and his family. I was especially impressed with the vegan entrées which Chef specially prepared for the vegans in our group. The food was delicious, the service was outstanding, and we look forward to returning again soon. Your accommodations for our dietary preferences were greatly appreciated!
