   Every time we’ve dined here it has been wonderful! However today we had a wait person who was absent for most of our meal. But as usual the regular people we’ve seen are super wonderful. This was a new person we hadn’t seen before. But he was incredibly inattentive. And Joy is always lovely! The food was delicious.

   I was always taught if you have nothing good to say then don’t say it. However, my wife convinced me to write a review. The best thing about this experience was we were seated promptly compared to others behind us. After nearly a 45min wait the wine we ordered was actually very good for the $. Everything thereafter was comical. We dinned on Valentine Day. Ellie’s was not ready and or prepared for what most anticipate to be the busiest day of the year. Service was so slow and lethargic at best. The chicken my wife ordered was tasteless and dry. The warm apple salad we ordered never arrived and the pork chop was grossly over cooked, bland and mostly bone. Etc…

   Greg: Thank you for your honest review. We definitely had a few challenges beyond our control last evening. Your experience wasn't indicative to who we are or what we normally deliver and we apologize. I only wish you would have asked to speak with someone because we could have changed this for you. We do hope you will give us another try, next time you visit but we also respect the fact that you may not. We hope the rest of your weekend promises you more happiness.

   Ellie’s Tap & Vine is our favorite restaurant in the SYV, and we’ve become regulars. The food is always amazing, and the chef is consistently considerate of my food allergies. The entrees Ellie’s serves cater to any palate, and the dishes are so creative. The staff are polite and friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu offerings. We love the ambience- the decor, candles and awesome playlists! This restaurant is one I’d highly recommend to both locals and visitors. You’ll fall in love with it, too!

   Very warm and cozy atmosphere. We were there during restaurant week, therefore it was very crowded. Our nice table of 5 was well placed, but difficult to hear each other talk. Felt like I had to yell, but we managed. Food was excellent, met the head chef and owner, Joy. She's very hospitable and nice to talk to. I will definitely go back again. The outside deck looks fun on a sunny warm day.

   We attended during restaurant week. The menu had a wide variety of choices and the portion sizes were definitely larger than those at other participating restaurants. The food was cooked to perfection and while extremely busy the service was outstanding!

   Joy, the chef/owner of Ellie’s, makes you feel so welcome. Kind of like the way the actors at the bar on the TV show ‘Cheers’ were portrayed. Only this is very real. She is an amazing chef and the food is always excellent! We love how she varies her menu from season to season. Great wine list and awesome sound track! If you like desserts, the bread pudding is the best.

   We had the beef short ribs on creamy mashed potatoes that were delicious!! Had a wonderful chopped salad that had some really good little chopped, dried cranberries, and other things in there that really made it delightful! And then we had the fluffiest chocolate mousse that I’ve ever had! it was during Santa Ynez restaurant week and so we felt we really got a good value for top notch dining!
