Elske means love in Danish, a nod to both David Posey’s Danish mother and the fact that the couple got engaged in Copenhagen. “Our travels in Denmark have really influenced us,” Chef Posey said. “We like that clean, simple aesthetic.” The dining room — all crisp lines, minimalist décor & soft lighting — is anchored by a wide open kitchen on one side & a small patio with a working fireplace on the other. Combined with the friendly service, it creates the impression that you’re eating in a supremely tasteful Scandinavian friend’s weekend home.

    We went for the a la carte menu — Belgian endives, leek vinaigrette, lamb, and chicken fricasee — and everything was tasty. The staff were attentive and friendly. Their cocktails were awesome too! Really enjoyed the evening and would recommend Elske!

    We had an amazing meal last evening at Elske! We chose the “Set Menu” option to get a sampling of all the different options and we were not disappointed. Each course was unique and delicious and, although small plates, we were pleasantly full at the end of the meal. The ambiance was cozy and buzzy without being too loud. The service was kind, prompt and knowledgeable. They let me try a couple of red wines to have with my beef course! Overall, the experience was awesome and well worth the trek into the city!! Highly recommended!!!

    absolutely fantastic food and a great price for both quality and style. it was our anniversary dinner and our waitress was so sweet & fantastic, the service was incredibly diligent without feeling stuffy. 10/10 experience and would highly recommend!

    We were looking forward to celebrating NYE at Elske. The experience would have been much better if the chefs were more concerned about public health. The amount of salt in every dish was overwhelming. Roasted chicken croquettes with parsley were oozing salt. Also, most fish are cured in salt, so what is the reason to add more salt? Unfortunately, I can't recommend this place to friends with blood pressure issues because of the salt in the dishes. Also, we go out to enjoy our time at the restaurant without being rushed. The server snatched my cake from me without asking if I finished it, and then, without any question, the bill just appeared on the table. I enjoyed lamb tartare with beets, but they weren't mentioned in the dish description on the menu. I wouldn't mind paying extra for good food. Still, I expected the professionals to be most considerate of their customers' health and surprise me with the taste of the ingredients because I didn't need to pay $300 to experience the taste of salt. Overall, it is a nice restaurant, and I hope they will consider this suggestion—less salt.

    Wines were unique and paired really well. Splitting one wine pairing was just perfect for us. Relaxed even at a brisk pace, which is tricky to do.
