    We had the Thanksgiving special and for that type of dinner it was excellent. the smoked turkey was very flavorful and savory. Nice touch for turkey. The rest of the sides were also great. One of the best Thanksgiving dinners I have had.

    We love this restaurant and make sure to dine a few times per year. The service is always phenomenal. This was our first time doing a special holiday brunch. Overall, things were wonderful as long as you are a meat/dairy/egg eater. Most people are. Not everyone in our party was, as we did have some plant based/vegan eaters at our table. A great way to improve the overall experience would be for the restaurant to include some obvious plant-based options - especially for people who are dining with family for special occasions but have dietary limitations. It's a heavy price tag to pay for people just eating the sliced fruit and naked lettuce.

    Was surprised by how toddler friendly this restaurant is. Definitely a great place to eat for thanksgiving and even the kids menu taste great.

    Took our 25 year old son for a special luncheon day before Thanksgiving, as he will be working on Thanksgiving. Experience was "MEH". Waited at hostess stand for about 8 minutes with no acknowledgment (bartender was in plain sight without a single customer in the bar). I finally asked bartender if anyone could get us seated for our reservation, he said just wait for the hostess. It was just past noon & only a few occupied tables - the service was just lackluster, no one came to refill empty water glasses, after about 20 minutes, I flagged down a busperson who obliged. My son was excited to order a special steak, they had a "reserve steak menu" available on request. He selected a special cut ($82) & asked what sides were available. None. So the steak comes by itself, and the server said they really don't have sides available during lunch. Hmm...we asked about several items offered off the entree selection, server said those really won't work well. Server said he would check with the kitchen & see what they could do...he returned & said they could do a side of broccolini with kale. My son (feeling a bit self conscious ordering such an expensive steak) asked what the cost would be for the side. Not once, but twice the server said " no charge, we will include the side". Food came out incredibly slowly, felt like close to an hour. I had ordered the carrot hummus, which came with four crispy pieces of pita that seemed fried. I asked for just some regular soft pita wedges, which came about 25 minutes later. No mention of extra charge, there was. Shortly after the meals arrived, the server stopped by & said "oh my bad, the chef said there actually is an extra charge for the broccolini side - it will be $12, I apologize" & walked off. At this point, my son - said that is really bad form, a person should not say no charge, then recant that after the meal is delivered. Our lunch of two appetizers, a burger, steak (& side), salad & ice teas was $185 prior to tax. Not impressed

    Excellent venue for lunch with view of Aviara Golf Course in foreground and Batiquitos Lagoon beyond, very scenic. Dependent on weather, outdoor seating would be the best option! Richard Blais' preparations for lunch for our party of 4 was delicious! I plan to return for dinner as today's lunch was our first visit to Ember & Rye. My wife and I have followed Richard Blais since he first came to San Diego. We enjoyed his fine dining presentations many years when he was Chef/Owner at Juniper & Ivy. We look forward to many more meals at Ember & Rye!

    Wonderful dining experience. The service from start to finish was first rate. We came for our anniversary and had a wonderful meal. The shrimp cocktail had the largest tiger prawns I’ve ever seen. Beautifully cooked boneless ribeye and an extensive wine collection.
