   Nice restaurant and very attentive waiters. The wine and starters were excellent but our experience fell down on the main course which was over done and not very appetising.

The pork and beef you mentioned are both simmered, slow-cooked, deeply flavoured, and unapologetically rich. Not everyone's cup of tea, we get it, but definitely intentional. We would rather stand by bold flavours than play it safe. That said, we appreciate the honesty, and if you’re up for a second round, we’d be happy to show you what else our kitchen can do.    This is one of my favourite restaurants. Lovely ambience, friendly and competent people. Food so tasty and well presented. Properly French.

   We had a beautiful evening at Excuse my French. The mixed Charcuterie and cheese board was just delicious with each element so carefully chosen . The owner and staff were so knowledgeable about every dish and the fantastic wine options . This is a real gem !

   I hate to leave a negative review. I was attracted by so many positive reviews and a high score. The restaurant itself is welcoming as is the owner, however the food was quite a let down, indeed only the charcuterie board was successful. The French Onion soup lacked onion and depth, the fish pie lacked fish, but came with small chunks of uncooked potato. The next table were also underwhelmed… they had different main courses. It’s a pity for the young couple who have set the restaurant up… it needs serious reworking

   Dear Derek, Thank you for your feedback. We are happy you enjoyed the charcuterie board and our atmosphere but sorry that some dishes didn’t meet your expectations. Our French Onion Soup is made from a traditional family recipe, and our Fish Pie contains smoked herring, salmon, and cod (180-190g per pie). The potatoes are steamed, then baked in the sauce for extra flavor. We’ll review its preparation to ensure consistency. We also wanted to clarify that while we welcome all feedback, we believe it’s important to avoid assuming other guests’ experiences. The table next to you actually left perfectly happy with their evening. We will use your comment to continue improving.    Really enjoyable experience on all levels. Really liked the dishes - unpretentious, high quality, authentic food, with the staff able to talk us through the French producers of various cheeses, cold meats etc. Good wine choices - great Pinot Noir from the Loire region. Will be back soon.

    I had the Avocado toast - with a very nice poached egg. I'd really prefer chopped avocado rather than the avocado cream as I think it would have given a better flavour & texture to the dish. The poached egg was very nice, but perhaps too much hollandaise sauce. My friend's Quiche was excellent though - and very good fries. Glass of wine each, tea/coffee - and the bill was €51 before a tip (of which the wine was €20). Very pleasant & efficient service.

    Dear Geraldine, Thank you for your feedback on the avocado toast. Avocado cream is a culinary choice to offer something different and more delicate without altering the taste of the avocado. As for the hollandaise sauce, we use what we think is an average amount, but perhaps you had more than usual. The egg is home poached and does not come from a plastic bucket, we are delighted that you enjoyed it.
