2022 James Beard Award Winner for Best Chef Northwest & Pacific.

Rooted in the local farm-to-table movement — a place where seasonality and culinary tradition are celebrated in tandem. One part Hawaii and one part Brooklyn. The atmosphere shares a brasserie feel with a laid-back island sensibility—a celebration and homage to all of our favorite things we enjoy eating and drinking.

Crafted with brick & reclaimed wood, our urban Hawaiian farmhouse features an open kitchen, lush plant wall, brick walls, and lots of natural light in a historic Chinatown building. The bar mixes classic and modern cocktails with artisanal flare with a well-curated wine list.

From the OpenTable editors: The first native Hawaiian woman to win a James Beard Award, chef Robynne Maii adds island twists to brasserie comforts at the nationally acclaimed Fête, like bavette steak glazed in a sticky-sweet sauce and topped with a sunny egg, carbonara tossed with the local favorite sausage, and smoked ono (wahoo) layered into a club sandwich. Don’t miss the rocky road ice cream—Maii originally trained as a pastry chef in NYC before bringing the party home to Honolulu.

Would not allow us to move our reso to a later time but we saw many empty tables while we were there. Poor service - server barely checked in with us and host was awkward as well when inviting us to our seat. Generous of them to bring us two glasses of bubbly to celebrate our honeymoon though! The food was also quite good, but we were not wowed.

This was our second visit, the first in May was 5 stars easily in every category. The biggest difference was where we were seated; our server was nice, but obviously very new. I asked for a “romantic” table, but instead we were squeezed in along a wall in the noisiest possible place at the entrance to the kitchen and drink service area. Once seated, could barely move and we were rubbing shoulders with the people at next tables, both sides. Not pleasant. My entree was the special Onaga and it was INCREDIBLE. The food and close proximity to Hawaii Theater will bring us back, but only if we are to be seated somewhere else, preferably the library (if still open ?)

The service was very friendly and knowledgeable on the food. They gave recommendations on the selections. The oysters, Caesar’s salad, kanpachi, crispy shrimp, ginger fried rice, seafood soup, and chocolate cake with ice cream were most delicious. We’ll be back again!
