   30 minutes late being seated after the reservation time. I don’t mind 15 minutes, but 30 minutes is excessive. Food is wonderful as always. Desiree is a great waitress, very friendly and thorough.

   A very enjoyable dining experience. I had the fried catfish. It was good. The red beans and rice side was excellent as was the coleslaw. The fried chicken was good but not great. The grits were very good as were the pinto beans. This is a very family oriented restaurant. It was very busy when we were there. It was noisy but a great vibe. Lots of happy people dining. All in all it was fun. A good experience.

   TOP NOTCH SERVICE !! We got the shrimp and grits, smothered chicken and fried deviled eggs & fried green tomatoes. Grits were creamy & shrimp flavorful. Chicken still crispy smothered w/gravy (yes!), fried deviled eggs an absolute must-extremely flavorful.

   I think the election shouldn't have been shown during dinner. It caused the special birthday dinner to be overshadowed. No one wants to talk about politics while out to dinner.

    We were so excited to try Fixins Restaurant. I have to say this was the worst soul food We have ever experienced. First off I ordered the ox tails. I saw that it said sweet gravy but it was too sweet. My side was black eyed peas and they were sweet also. My husband ordered chicken and waffles. His chicken was very dark and dry. Very over cooked. We won’t be returning.
