This iconic San Francisco restaurant reopened in September 2013, heralding the return of a beautiful destination for modern, eclectic cuisine and cocktails along the City’s Embarcadero. At the helm is renowned chef and owner Bruce Hill. The landmark Fog City Diner, which first opened in 1985, was completely re-imagined by chef Hill and the restaurant’s founders. Maintaining the energy and spirit of the beloved original, this new incarnation offers innovative menus in a sophisticated, warm and open environment. I mourn the loss of the old FCD. Why the present owners gutted and rebuilt a SF classic, turning it into a garish mess I cannot imagine. They even took down the classic Farley originals and warehouses them. And sadly the food has declined as well. It's now a place only for tourists, guidebook in hand.

Good service and food. Flank steak deserved something besides the french fries (grilled vegetables ?) Very tasty steak but should be paired with something comparable. Husband loved the pork shop! We had our 13 year old grandson with us so the virgin cocktails were a nice option.

The old fog city diner was magical and delicious. This new fog city was sooooo noisy we had a hard time talking, ordering and enjoying. Will not go again until we hear something has been done. Very sad☹️

Coffee maker had broken, so they couldn't serve coffee during Sunday brunch. Had to explicitly ask for an Americano as a substitute, and they charged full Espresso prices for each Americano rather than coffee price as a courtesy. Generally, service was not helpful, friendly, or gracious.

Food was decent, menu is sparse. Ensure your wait staff understands that when you order mimosas (bottomless being the only thing on the menu) that you really did mean bottomless! Mine tried to give me 1 glass, and when questioned wanted to charge me for both =$28.00. Manager resolved, but geez!
