You won't find a neighborhood restaurant anywhere close to Greenville doing what chef Shawn Kelly set out to do: provide both neighbors and visitors alike the Upstate's freshest and most plentiful meats, produce, and products, both as a dine-in and carryout option.

This concept supports the idea that farmers and chefs can make a living supplying a community with its daily necessities, while also encouraging enjoyment of a simple meal of a sandwich or steak, chop, or bake.

Just imagine: Wednesdays become your favorite lunch day of fresh and locally-sourced soups and salads with a friend. Then you get a favorite bottle of wine to bring home, coupled with carefully chosen side dishes and the best burgers and fresh Carolina seafood in Greenville to throw on the grill. Or maybe you even have a long-standing Sunday brunch date!

The food and service are excellent every visit. Thanks to Lia for her attentiveness last night. Try the Brussels Sprouts as a starter and know that whichever meal you choose, it will be delicious. Make sure to save room for dessert!

Dinner was good and our waitress was attentive. It's always loud and hard to talk. I'm not a fan of the metal seats but I enjoyed my meal.

Our first visit to Fork & Plough. We weren’t sure what to expect - other than good food. The atmosphere left us a little disappointed. However that was more our expectation and nothing against management. Where we were seated we were attended to by the bar staff. They were slammed at the bar and the service therefore was a little slow at times. The most important part - THE FOOD - was outstanding! French onion soup is excellent (although we would rather have Gruyère instead of Swiss). My wife had carpaccio (superb) and I had the grilled salmon Caesar salad. This is a great food spot to enjoy with friends in a lively neighborhood atmosphere. Maybe not the best place for romantic date night with your spouse or significant other. We will definitely be going back, though! The food is too good not to return.

Let me first say that the service at Fork & Plough was very good, there is parking in a lot behind the premises, the restaurant layout is comfortable, clean and urban minimalist, and the pimento cheese and crab bisque delicious! With a new and limited menu out every day, you can only please some of the people some of the time. Yesterday was not the day for either my husband or myself to be especially pleased with what was offered for the price. I had the green tomato sandwich with pimento cheese and a side cup of crab bisque. The pimento cheese was creamy goodness with just a bit of spice, and the crab bisque was hot and very flavorful. However, the plate was not photo worthy; a criteria that we use to justify what we feel is a bit of a pricy meal. My husband chose a combined meat product patty on a biscuit and french fries. Again, not photo material (I didn't even want a taste) and unfortunately not his favorite. The meat patty was too tight for the tender biscuit and the biscuit fell all apart additionally the fries were disappointingly cold and limp for $18.00. This could have been an off day and the food was good enough to not give a totally negative review. But, with all the dining options we now have in Greenville, we most likely will not be giving this one a second try.

We had a reservation at 11:30. Our server and the food were great. The tab for our table with tip was roughly $240. It was worth it until the hostess approached our table at 1pm to let us know that our table was then needed for another reservation and we were invited to leave. We were still enjoying conversation and our mimosas. Never has this happened to any of us before. We were astonished and still can’t believe we were asked to leave after only sitting for 1.5 hours. It is a horrible policy to do what your hostess did to us today. And for the price I expect much better decorum. Needless to say we will never dine there again. And that includes 4 friends that extend to a friend group of eight and their families. Greenville as a whole is getting to be a very snobby restaurant city and they are forgetting how critical the customer experience is.

If I had one “bummer” moment…we barely started our appetizers when our entrees arrived. Thankfully we both ordered sandwiches so it sort of blended but…food, wine and service were lovely and we will be back!
