Even though we had a reservation, it took a while to get seated and it’s always frustrating watching groups who came in after you without reservations to be seated before you. It happened more than a few times while we awkwardly waited by the front of the restaurant. The food tasted delicious and the service was really friendly, but very, very slow. And the special bubble machine for the vodka and sodas was making flat drinks. I expected more.

This was my first time at Founding Farmer's. I found it on OpenTable search for a party of 6 in Washington DC. We were there for brunch. The hosts were very welcoming and kind. The servers were great, but one could tell they we were there during a busy brunch time period. The overall experience was decent, but did not knock me out of my socks. We were there for brunch; so, we go a breakfast and lunch menu. This was positive because it allowed those of us who are breakfast fans to have their breakfast treats and those of us who are lunch fans to have a lunch food. I had the fish and chips (obviously I am not a breakfast food person). The meal was mediocre. The chips (e.g., French Fries) were warm but tasted like they had been sitting in a warming window for a while. The breakfast items were expensive for what you received. Our server, Nina, was great. She seemed to have several large parties in her section, and she handled them all with grace. The overall price for a party of six was just over $200, which included a bottle of champagne. So, it was value was worth it. I just wasn't blown away by the place.

Overall very good quality food. We were a family of 5 (kids 14/16/20) and the bill, with tip, was $200. But we all ordered a full breakfast with drinks and cappuccino for the two adults. Service was also attentive and very good. Would recommend.

Went here to celebrate birthday. It was a bit disappointing overall and felt over hyped on internet. Had made reservations, but was seated for dinner 15 minutes post the time. Understandable given it was a Sat night. Our server was okay, not exceptional. She seemed busy with many tables. Food was okay. Meatloaf and mashed potatoes were good, beans were not cooked enough. Goat cheese burger had a nice flavor but nothing extraordinary. Farro salad also okay, fresh and had a slight cayenne kick. Ordered the cheeseburgers for kids and it was on the dry side. Was disappointed their pork and lentil stew was out at 7:30pm. Had to tell the server it was a birthday celebration and she brought out ice cream with candle and didn't wish the little one. Not that she needed to, but I felt someone who wants to ensure you had an amazing dining experience their would have done something like that I believe. Ice cream wasn't free, wasn't expecting but didn't have a choice in dessert. Not sure if there was a separate dessert menu. Overall just didn't feel worth the hype. Kids enjoyed our meatloaf better than their cheeseburgers.

The food was very good; however, the restaurant was so busy, we weren’t seated until at least 30 minutes after our reserved time.

We had reservations on Saturday evening for 5pm but weren’t seated until almost 5:30pm. The restaurant was full, and the noise level was a bit loud because of it. I ordered the chicken salad salad and asked if it was deconstructed (I had seen some pictures) and the server had trouble describing it. When it came, it was deconstructed and I was disappointed- the menu should state this because it’s more like lettuce wraps than a salad. My partner had the hot chicken sandwich and there was sauce squirted into one quarter of the chicken, but the rest was bare. The sauce makes the sandwich, so he was disappointed. We’ve had better meals at other FF locations, so maybe this was just a blip, but the pre-show meal was overall not up to expectations.
