Offering an elegant breakfast with a wisp of French influence, Fountain Restaurant is a destination for weekday breakfast and weekend brunch in the heart of Downtown San Jose, right next to Circle of Palms.     Our luxurious Christmas buffet includes slow-cooked prime rib with Yorkshire pudding, smoked baked ham, and whole roasted chicken with an orange honey cinnamon glaze. Indulge in classic sides like creamy seafood chowder, roasted Brussels sprouts, and truffle mushroom ravioli.                                                                                         The waiter was kind considering reservation was at 1:45 and we found out restaurant closed at 2pm. The quality of the food was poor- not fresh and / or overcooked. Salmon was like jerky and Mac and cheese was mushy, and hollandaise was tangy and lobster wasn’t fresh. Disappointing and not like the old Fountain Room we knew

                                                                                        We walked in through the hotel. The doors opened and there was a very strong smell that wasn’t pleasant. Once we found our way to the buffet area we were told by another guest to check in “over there”  the Buffet was lined up in a hallway. Credit to the chef of food was excellent except for the overcooked prime rib. The strong smell in the hallway ruined my appetite. We found out the hotel pumps in extra air freshener when they serve buffets. The hallway they use for the food shares a wall to the garbage/dumpster. Almost $300 for two people. Horrible experience.

                                                                                        We went to the Thanksgiving Buffet and I was blown away with the whole experience. The meat carving station was clean and well laid out. The food options were a lot and the quality of the food was actually super delicious and not dry and had alot of flavor. I was surprised the green beans were so good. The mashed potatoes!!!! Best mashed potatoes Ive ever tasted. Overall the food presentation, quality, quantity was exceptional. The waiting staff were super friendly, attentive and helped often. I never really waited long if i needed something from someone. I remember kim who seated me was super friendly and very professional. Our waiter Sergio was extremely helpful, accomodating and professional. He made some jokes with us that were great and felt like eating armt a hosts home. Thank you team, you all picked great people to work on this thanksgiving experience. I want to take my parents here for another buffet experience next time!

                                                                                        I’ve debated about posting my reaction, but ultimately decided that spending this much (for brunch . $100+) requires a spotless experience. There were excellent dishes (the seafood/sushi were great!). Unfortunately every piece of beef was destroyed by overcooking. Dry , tasteless, inedible: hundreds (thousands?) of dollars of great cuts cooked until even pink was a distant memory. I get that a part of the population wants well done beef for some reason, but to cook every piece of beef to that level is just plain bad taste.

                                                                                        This was the place highly recommend by Yelp & Open Table in that area, so we decided to give it a shot for fathers day. The reservation was made with an ease, but the food was super over priced I mean a $22.00 for an Avocado Toast. the food was over all good but i don't think it was any different from any other brunch place. The only thing that was excellent and that stood out was our server, he was friendly and very welcoming.

                                                                                        First of all nowhere does it say it’s a hotel restaurant.  it was hard to find and pricey. Surface wasn’t good. It was an overall disappointment.

                                                                                        As always the experience here is great! Thank you Kim for the warm welcome and Mario for the wonderful service! It is a busy breakfast restaurant, but it does not make the experience any less great. Also, whatever you do, order the Huevos Rancheros. Enjoy!!

                                                                                        We arranged the table to be in a T shape so everyone would see each other and talk. The waiter immediately started complaining about it and then made us wait forever for him to bring us coffee and then again forever to order. There is plenty of room for him to maneuver, and it was actually a perfect set up for him as well as us. After two hours, finally got up with the check and had to track him down. No one else would take it speaking of no one else, I was trying to change the reservations from 8 to 9 people, and the automated system would not let me talk to anyone of course, when I went onto, OpenTable times had changed. Not a good system.
