Free Range Kitchen is the creation of owners Steve & Robin Humble who have been immersed in the Roaring Fork Valley's restaurant scene for 30 years.

We strive to create a menu that offers seasonal, innovative comfort food. We use responsibly farmed, freshly harvested ingredients without hormones or antibiotics, supporting the local Colorado farming and ranching communities. We use local ingredients, whenever possible.

Our goal is to create a BEAUTIFUL, FUN, WELCOMING restaurant & bar with WARM, FRIENDLY service, & a GREAT VIBE alongside the river, in Historic Downtown Basalt. With boutique global wine offerings, hand selected by Steve and a wide selection of regional craft beers and specialty cocktails using artisanal spirits and house-made infusions.

Greg Brewer Wine Dinner

Greg Brewer of Brewer Clifton, Diatom and Ex Post Facto Wines will be hosting a dinner on Tuesday, January 7th at 6:30pm. Steve and Greg met at the winery's first location in a warehouse in Lompoc in 2004 and have been friends ever since. Greg will be showcasing a chardonnay from Diatom, a syrah from Ex Post Facto and a pinot noir from Brewer Clifton at the dinner. The cost of the four- course dinner is $130. Seats are limited and this event will sell out.

The Pinot Posse Returns ...Again! We are delighted to announce the Pinot Posse have yet again selected us to host their annual dinner in the Roaring Fork Valley on Wednesday January 22nd at 6:30pm. This a really fun, interactive wine dinner hosted by six different winemakers from California and Oregon. This year's lineup includes the perennial attendees Dan Kosta of Convene Winery, Jim Prosser of JK Carriere Winery, David O'Reilly of Owen Roe Winery, Ed Kurtzman of August West Wines, Adam Lee and Moret Brealynn from Busy Signal Jay Boberg of Domaine Nicholas-Jay. This year's event will be a four-course dinner featuring 7 different wines. Cost is $175 per person.

Great service by Renee! Delicious margarita and truffle fries. Corn ravioli entree so different and tasty. Appreciate the pace of service and that manager personally checked in with us. Like the new menu.

great location and ambience but service was extremely slow, took 30 minuets for drinks and another hour for our food. All 4 of us had 'stomach problems' afterwards. Ive tried this now 3 times and with the same experience. as nice as it appears, its just not up to proper food and service standards, I wont go back.

We had the crab cake which was just crumbs. We had the fish tacos no flavor. We had the honey chicken sliders - they were good. It was busy not sure what they serve which is good. I would never go back.

Beautiful new restaurant with patio seating right on Basalt river park makes for good vibes and scenic views. Food is fresh and healthy, recipes are modern and interesting to taste. Attentive and professional wait staff. Owners come by to say hello and check in. Locally owned and operated.
