Elisha (sorry if I spelled it wrong) was friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. I have celiac disease (I need gluten free food) and she was so helpful with the options. Really nice menu with very unique but hearty choices for the whole group. Go Sunday at 6:30 and you’ll have the place to yourself. It was full but then everyone was leaving for the theater. We appreciate the comfortable surroundings and we could talk easily.

While the menu is fairly limited and not what I would consider a 'foodie' destination, the dishes that both my wife and I had were very well prepared and very tasty. Professional and attentive service, moderately priced. We were particularly impressed that not only did part-owner Brandon Christowski stop by everyone's table, a literal monk -- also a partner in the restaurant -- also stopped at each table to ask about everyone's experience...which was unexpectedly very good!

What a great concept! And Brandon was on site along with the Friar to make sure everything went spectacularly. There were 14 of us and all enjoyed the cuisine, atmosphere and service very much.

This was our first time at this new establishment. The food was pretty good…a couple of suggestions though. The appetizer was almost cold—delicious, but cold. I’m not sure if it was supposed to be hot or cold (goat cheese and spinach pancake). At least warm might have been better. The salmon was delicious, but it came with nothing. I had to order something off the legumes menu, and the eggplant was ice cold. I’m guessing it was supposed to be cold, but it would have been nice to have known that. Wait staff needs to be more forthcoming with details like that. The Benoits were delicious! All in all, it was an ok dinner. We will give it another try once the kinks are worked out. It’s a lovely space and nice to have a new restaurant choice in the Playhouse Square District.

We sampled several soups and appetizers for our first visit. Everything was wonderful! We booked a return visit as soon as we got home! A great addition to the Playhouse Square area!

Tried this as a pre-show dining option. The menu is limited but has enough variety to find something. I had the Mini St Casilda's salad. The dressing was a little bland, but the greens were fresh and tasty. I also had the Rigottoni white was creamy and delicious. The sausage added a nice kick of spice. The wine selections are house only and the cabernet wasn't the best. Service was fantastic and I love the location so definitely will be back

Friar’s Table is a wonderful addition to Playhouse Square. Its mission is commendable , and is supported by gracious waitstaff and an interesting menu and beverage selection. We enjoyed our appetizers and entrees which were nicely prepared and creatively presented. We look forward to visiting again soon.

A night out for dinner prior to going to the theater. Service was a bit sketchy, but the food was exceptional. I'm confident the service issues will work themselves out with time and training. I'm always happy to support the mission of this restaurant. The cumin carrots were a perfect complement as a side salad to the lamb shoulder. The lamb shoulder was fork tender and perfectly cooked. We will be returning soon with friends!
