Gara Kitchen - Relaxed dining in our new casual Gara Kitchen Restaurant - four legged friends welcome, reservations advisable.

From land to sea, we like to keep it local, wherever we can. Executive chef Paul Hegley delivers seasonal dishes featuring ingredients from near by producers and our own kitchen garden. A great view, fantastic service, comfortable surroundings, luxury without pretention at its best.

    Service was great and relaxed atmosphere.Quality of food although good, 2 of the lunches were superb fish & chips. Focaccia lunch was just a huge sandwich on a small wooden board which meant food kept falling off onto the table. I personally found it too large for both the board and for my appetite and felt the money was wasted. I would have been more than happy to pay just over half the price for half of the meal. Other clients also were overhead saying they were struggling to eat it. The Caesar salad would have fed out whole table so again was too large and therefore a lot of wastage.

    There’s wasn’t any background music so some other divers played their own music through the phone which ruined the ambience somewhat. Staff didn’t ask them to turn it off. The same couple was also letting their dog run free around the restaurant which was fairly inconsiderate. We don’t mind dogs but if we had or we had had our dog with us it wouldn’t have made the experience more stressful. Again the staff didn’t say anything. We felt £24 for a fairly average burger and fries was pretty expensive.

    Stunning views and outstanding food. We had the set A La Carte venue which was very good value for the standard of food served up. Excellent choice of options available and all produced using beautiful, and unusual ingredients. Would recommend!

    We had a great evening meal in The Kitchen at Gara Rock. The food was delicious and a good portion size and the service was friendly and attentive. Beautiful surroundings too.

    The menu was a small set one but each dish was delicious. The flavours were classic with a twist, the portions were good and each dish was beautifully presented. The crab fritter was one of the best starters we have ever tasted. The ravioli dish had lovely textures - puree, pumpkin seed crunch, pesto and delicate pasta. Would definitely recommend. Our server Tom was friendly and very attentive.

    Beautiful tasteful hotel with stunning views. Great service and good food. We loved the pickles!! Very friendly staff. All a very pleasant lunch.
