We had a family lunch for 5 people. We went for the vegan option on the set meal. This was an absolutely fabulous set of dishes, including a vegan duck option as a middle course. We also enjoyed a couple of glasses of the Chapel Down sparkling rose - delightful. The food is absolutely delicious and the service is attentive. Gars remains the best Chinese restaurant in Brighton. We're definitely coming back.

Food was great, service was just a little patchy in areas but it was a very busy Friday night so to be expected. Catered for me, gluten free, with some delicious alternatives to the main menu which everyone else said was fantastic. Relaxed eating, more than three hours and no rush to move you on.. Five very happy diners! Will definitely be going again.

The table was lovely, the food the prawn toast was cold and rock hard. squid was really tough and cold. The pork dumplings was stone cold. It's a shame.

Service very good. Food also. The only improvement would be to find a way of keeping the food warmer - it cooled very quickly especially the fish served on a normal plate.

My 50th Birthday weekend. We came to Gars after a recommendation from a friend. The whole experience of this restaurant was amazing. The food was excellent, the service was amazing asking how long we wanted to wait between courses. And finally the the bill was very fair. Would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Brighton.
