After hearing of the restaurant’s sale, we were excited to go and support the new owners.
We weren’t disappointed. The few changes were nice and the staff either the usual excellent waitstaff and a new person who is also excellent.
The menu is very similar with a few tweaks and some new plates. Delicious.
We’re thrilled as we love The Glass Onion. It’s still a fave!

We decided to enjoy Easter lunch out at a restaurant to celebrate our first Easter in Asheville. That was the easy part, deciding where to go was tougher!
We decided on The Glass Onion and we were so glad we did.
We were warmly welcomed as we entered the restaurant and seated promptly. Our server was very attentive from the beginning of our meal to the last bite of our delicious desserts.
The food was outstanding, the fresh bread served soon after we were seated … no words!!
Do yourself a favor and make a reservation, you’ll be glad you did.

Busy night staff seemed overwhelmed. One of our favorites but lately has seemed a bit off and not at all relaxing. Made my reservation almost a month in advance but was given a sub par table in the middle of everything. Will go back but with trepidation

Really glad we tried it! Everything was amazing. Had the handmade fettuccine with mushrooms. My husband had gnocchi with duck sausage. Both delicious. The garlic rolls were to die for. Finished with southern coconut cake. Highly recommend all of it.

The appetizer garlic bread was wonderful, the beet and pear salad was to die for! The salmon was excellent as was the shrimp cavatappi (though only 4 shrimp). Only one rye available at the bar 😢

Had dinner here last night and was really impressed! I tried a couple of the specials — the yellowfin tuna cake appetizer and the cavatelli with braised beef ragu — and both were excellent. The tuna cake was packed with flavor and had plenty of delicious sauce to go with it. The cavatelli was rich, comforting, and perfectly cooked. Everything was beautifully presented and the portions were generous. Great experience overall — I’ll definitely be back!

Everything was delicious: bruschetta, pear & beet salad, Caesar salad, cannelloni with ricotta & artichoke, peanut butter pie and triple chocolate cake. The service was attentive but not intrusive, the atmosphere very pleasant. If we visit again we’ll come back!

This is one of our favourite places to eat in Weaverville. The new owners are a delight. It can be tricky when new owners take over a fave place, but golly they are doing it right! The food is wonderful - new menu items sliding in, and they are delicious. We sat at the bar. Denise was super - she is a swift bartender and provides wonderful service. Laura, the new owner, was kind and gracious and checked up on us a few times. Obviously we shall be back! Oh, did I say the food was GOOD!?
