   Great ambience great food enjoyed the scenery very nice dimmed light low toned would go back just wish it was more of selection of items but food was great

   The atmosphere was great and servers were friendly. Enjoyed our time there. However, service was slow and drinks had to be ordered multiple times. The food was over cooked (multiple people ordered medium-rare steak and got well-done). Overall, for the area, probably one of the best restaurants but still some improvements needed.

   Gathering of 3 couples, who have been friends for 50 years, but who all moved away from where we met 48 years ago!! Food and fellowship was great!

   We were a little stressed about the parking situation so when we inquired with the staff at the lobby they offered complimentary valet for up to 3 hrs which was a relief with a toddler. Our food was very tasty and better than I anticipated from the Google reviews - you deserve much higher. We will definitely return the next time we're in the area.

   We had a great dinner experience at the Golden Owl Tavern. This was a special dinner as we were meeting the family of my sister's fiance for the first time. It was the Tuesday before Thanksgiving so the UNC Charlotte Marriott hotel where the restaurant is located was pretty empty. I originally reserved for 6 but as more family came it ballooned to 10. The staff were very accommodating with the change. The food was excellent! Definitely the best I've had in Charlotte so far. We ate light since our reservations were late in the evening so I can't comment on the entrees. I ordered the shrimp tacos and cornbread skillet which were both excellent. My son had a $6 burger and fries from the kids menu which honestly was adult sized - excellent value! My husband had the rosemary fries and our guests had an assortment of foods from the menu, all of which looked good and had substantial portions. No complaints from anyone on the food, drinks or service. It was a good night!

   It was a slow night with only 5 tables in the restuarant at our time. There was only one wait staff. They were constantly behind and had trouble keeping our orders accurate, from right type of soda and wine. We will not be going back any time soon.

    Stayed at the hotel night prior decided to stay in and try bfast at their only restaurant. Overall disappointed. 50% ish occupied, waited 10-12 minutes to be seated. We were only ones to be seated. Immediately ordered had a sense things appeared to be moving slowly. Took 45 mins to get a simple egg platter. Had to flag down staff for simple coffee refills. Food avg and cost was so so. Problem appeared to be lack of management, plenty of help compared to customers dining. Noticed a few other tables complaining about their order. Staff nice but needed direction. I complained to Marriott. Nice hotel and location if you’re there for something UNC Charlotte related.
