   Dine outdoors on the front patio area along Duval Street on Christmas Day evening. Was a very lively scene and enjoyed the people watching opportunities. Nina was a really great server and the support staff was very attentive and helped her with clearing the table and prepping for the next course.....unusual at many places that we have visited in Key West! Food was very good as we sampled calamari, salads and three different mains. Loved the snapper with shrimp sauce and the sampler plate was a hit as well. Obligatory Key Lime pie was excellent!

   A very pretty restaurant which has indoor and outdoor seating on the heart of Duval Street. Our sever was very nice and we weren’t rushed (which is nice these days). Our gin and tonics were heavy on the tonic (if you get my meaning). The bread was cold and frankly was the least satisfying part of the meal. Conch fritters appetizer were great though. The Chef’s specials of seafood pasta and mixed grill were both excellent and cooked exactly to order. They were also very flexible with substitutions which was much appreciated. We were too stuffed to try what looked like some great desserts. Pricing was a bit on the high side for Key West, but all in all a very nice meal in a lovely environment.

   Thank you for being open on Christmas! We loved our lunch. I had the short rib which was very good- could have been a bit hotter and more veggies but overall excellent. Partner had the Christmas dinner and he liked it very much.

   Food was fine. Service was not only extremely slow but non attentive. It really ruined the mood for the evening.

   Food was excellent, as were the cocktails. Appetizers, entrees, and desserts did not disappoint and I would highly recommend having a meal here. You won’t pay more for a 6oz filet, so value is the only area where I’d give it a slightly lower rating. Tip of 18% was included in our bill for 4 people, which is unusual, but maybe it was because it was Christmas Eve, so not sure they always do that.

   Honestly, after everywhere we ate on the vacation in the Keys, this is the one place I wouldn’t go back to. It took an hour to just get our appetizers after ordering. Secondly, I wasn’t drinking at my table, and I ended up having to drink all my friends’ water glasses because we barely got refills. The food was only Mid for the pricing. The one thing we did like was the outdoor seating and that they offered blankets for outdoor seating because the chilly night. Overall, it seemed as if the restaurant was overwhelmed by the people or understaffed. Also, they threw tomatoe pieces on most of the dishes as a garnish - which it doesn’t list in the menu under ingredients so a heads up for any allergies.

    Always a great evening at The Grand. The owner swung by our table as soon as we were sat and even offered to bring us drinks - she was lovely. Food is outstanding (we love the beef carpaccio). And we really, really love how they value locals at The Grand. It keeps us coming back. Outstanding restaurant- if you haven’t been … go!
