   We celebrated my graduation here and everything was exceptional. My cocktail was fantastic, the food was amazing and coursed out perfectly/delivered promptly. There was never a moment we needed anything or were waiting too long for something. Our server, Carolyn, was particularly wonderful and thought of everything. I can’t say enough about the desserts and how generous and thoughtful it was for you all to bring out a complimentary slice of your amazing baked Alaska. Spending time with my mom and sister is so precious and you all made it so lovely. PS We all *really* appreciated the volume level. It was so nice to be able to hear everyone with ease and not feel the need to shout. Can’t thank you all enough for the experience and for thinking of everything! I can’t wait to come back!:)

   Always impressed with this place. Every dish I’ve had is fresh with well balanced flavor and the oysters are FRESH! I’ve sat in a different area each time and they’re all cozy. The service is consistently good. This past visit we had a guest with severe food allergies and were so appreciative to learn that the chef had created a dish prepared separately to avoid cross contamination. Will be back again soon!

   The ambiance, decor, food, and service were excellent! Our server had the right amount of sass and had to be the most knowledgeable in the room. She was delightful, and her recommendations were spot on.

   I worked in restaurants for many years and hate trashing a place, but Gunther was a huge disappointment. The oysters and cocktails were great, but it was all downhill after that. Nothing was bad, but nothing was good either. The halibut ceviche was pretty, but lacked any of the citrus punch you expect from a good ceviche. The fish was cut into very small pieces, and didn't taste particularly fresh. In fact, like most of what we ordered, it didn't taste like much of anything. The dumplings were also bland and tepid, lacking in any character, with wrappers that were a little rubbery, nondescript filling and a ponzu type sauce that was too watery. The shortrib was prepared sous vide, but lacked any seasoning, hence flavor, and was also tepid. The accompanying risotto was gummy and as far a we could tell, the accompanying horseradish aioli didn't contain any horseradish at all. The asparagus was way overcooked and carmelized onions lacked any sweetness. Nothing was served hot. The service was adequate, but not outstanding. Although I informed the staff it was my wife's birthday, but there was no acknowledgment during our visit. No one checked back after delivering our food to see if everything was ok. We went inside to the bar for an espresso and nightcap. Like the food, the espresso was also tepid and the back bar looked disorganized and dirty. The cognac was excellent. Bottom line, when you pay almost $300 for dinner, you have the right to expect better food and service. There were a lot of customers eating burgers and fries, maybe we should have taken the hint.

   We came here for my birthday, and sat at a table on the patio outside. Morgan was our server and she was great! Oysters were amazing, cocktails were amazing, food was amazing, dessert was amazing! Morgan recommended a great bottle of wine for dinner and her dessert recommendation was perfect too! The outside patio is so cute! Lots of greenery that makes it feel private. We will definitely be back!

   Dumplings skins were very thick and tough. Pork chop was very fatty undercooked and tough to cut.

   Always one of favorites. Food and service some of the best in B’more. Always worth the drive to Canton.
