I booked this for someone’s birthday at 1800 and specifically chose the ‘Sunday roast’ option only to arrive & be told there was none, then there was…. Then there wasn’t. It took 40 mins to get a drink & 1.25hrs to get food (no starters). Whilst I appreciate the gesture of not paying & drinks and service due to the mess up with our order?! We probably wouldn’t have paid service anyway as it was so bad. The whole meal took 3hrs as service was so bad, not quite what you would expect from a place like this, and not a birthday treat.

Waited 40 minutes for drink. Waited 1 hour for one course meal. Re -heated roast potatoes. Half the plate was taken up with a Yorkshire pudding which probably cost 50 p to make. Roast was £25 per plate. Not good value for money.However, the beef was good. Wine list very pretentious and was not in keeping with the very casually dressed waiting staff who were personable but slow. Will not return.

Beautiful building and food. Beer overpriced at £7.75 for a 330ml can but expected in a restaurant of this standard. Would recommend

Just an unbeatable restaurant experience. Very tasty steaks, great wine and excellent service. Can’t recommend it highly enough. Definitely our favourite restaurant in Edinburgh. Huge thanks as well for helping us celebrate a special business occasion!
