Welcome to Hazel – a celebration of creativity and community.

We are thrilled to announce the upcoming opening of Hazel, a dining, bar and event space due to open late November, nestled within the iconic Hazelhurst Arts Centre.

Hazel pays homage to the site’s Art Deco heritage and adds a contemporary twist to create a uniquely elegant atmosphere for your next event or dining experience. Whether it’s a casual drop-in or an extravagant celebration, Hazel celebrates the intimate moments as well as the revelry.

From the team who brought you Audley Dance Hall, we can’t wait to become part of Gymea’s vibrant community and open Hazel for everyone to enjoy.

    We had a fabulous time at Hazel. The food was delicious, ambience really nice and exceptional service. I highly recommend Hazel and plan to go back with friends and family.

    Food was great. New refurb is lovely. I had put a note on the booking that it was my Mums 85th birthday and we would love a candle in a piece of cake. No one read that it seems and when I asked, was told ‘no idea if we have a candle’. And she didn’t get one. A bit disappointing

    The new restaurant Hazel in the Hazelhurst gallery looks beautiful and has an amazing new fit out. But the menu was really lacking variety. We went for breakfast. I ordered the omelette with prawns and creme fraiche. The prawns were fresh but the omelette was quite bland. There was a little side "salad" but it was really just the mixed lettuce taken straight from the packaging, it hadn't been washed and had no dressing. I watched as a little bug hopped out of it when it was left on the table. I think a little more effort to simply wash the lettuce and then add a simple dressing would elevate the meal. Overall compared to the last restaurant at Hazelhurst the food was really disappointing. Atmosphere was really nice with nice music and the beautiful grounds.

    Beautiful new interior and friendly service. Food was quite good and the hazelnut eclair dessert was amazing. I’m keen to visit again and try other menu options.

    First time at Hazel and I ordered barramundi with Niçoise salad and it was cooked perfectly. Delicious! For dessert I had the cheesecake which was delicious. The menu has lots to choose from. The portions are a good size and the service was spot on. Would Definitely return. A great place to do breakfast/brunch or lunch in a beautiful surrounding.

    Not enough staff for the numbers of guest so your needs do not feel catered for. The service we got wa good when we got it and food was good.

    Fantastic customer experience and highly recommended. Chic, clean dining space with ample sitting room and ability to hear and enjoy your own table company and conversation. Food menu was a wonderful combination of fresh taste, good sized portions and visually enticing. All our staff interactions were friendly and very attentive. All round excellent atmosphere and I am genuinely so pleased they have created this unique culinary space in our local area. Happy to endorse our experience and look forward to our next meal.
