Hern is a relaxed but ambitious bistro from chef Rab Adams, located in the suburb of Chapel Allerton in North Leeds. Rab and his team build menus by focusing on products that are in season and at their best. Organic vegetables, local cheeses, heritage-breed meat and wild fish all feature heavily.

    *PLEASE NOTE WE CAN NOT ACCOMODATE ANY DIETARY REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS EVENT* We will be opening on New Years Eve with a special 7 course tasting menu priced at £100pp (charged on the night) including a welcome glass of champagne. This will be extremely limited with only one sitting starting at 6:30pm-7:30pm. We've planned this early sitting so that everyone can make it to their countdown plans with enough time.

    Everything was perfect, to eat food that wouldn’t normally order and taste how beautiful it was, is amazing. The wine menu was nice the only thing I would say this is the second restaurant in same month now not serving bottled water as tap water is disgusting so I would highly recommend bottled water/distilled water to be served.

    Fantastic! Don’t hesitate to dine here! The restaurant is small and cosy with plenty of space between tables and the decor is simple and classy which I loved. The service (which I guessed must be the proprietors) was welcoming and they were very attentive where needed or requested. The presentation of the food was perfect. The flavours and combinations were unique, subtle and an absolute delight! Highlights for me were the radish with beetroot and yoghurt combination, the soft and tasty focaccia, the vegetable terrine, the onion and ribblesdale tartlet - which was oh so delicate in texture and gorgeous flavours! The pastry took me back to my youth as it reminded me of my grandmas! The roast guinea fowl with boudin blanc and broccoli and pumpkin and anchovy butter main was also very tasty! Finally, the pear sorbet, pear, meringue and coffee dusted dessert was quite simply delicate and tasty perfection. I very much look forward to returning to sample the next menu!

    This 18 cover restaurant serves quality ingredients well cooked with the emphasis on the subject of the course. Everything is freshly prepared. The breads and pastry work is incredible. We love to visit as often as possible, as it’s weekly seasonal menus are ever changing. Recognition by the guides will surely come, Highly recommended.
