Hospitality Heavyweight Scott Imlach has teamed up with Head Chef Sam Sheehan to bring a modern take on classic Asian street food to the Gold Coast. A staple in the local dining scene since early 2016, the laid back alfresco eatery has proven its timeless flavours to locals and guests alike.

Service was really lacking, waited 10 mins in line to be seated to then be asked to wait in the bar area. Took another 10 mins to be seated. We got soaked when it started raining with no wait staff coming to move us or check on us. Food took 25 mins to come out, only saving grace was how amazing the food was.

The best fried rice ever! Unfortunately we thought we would book early dinner but we ended up waiting 45 mins for entrees and nearly 2 hours for mains post the entree! Was a tad crazy in there tho due to rain but still little unorganised bringing out one entree forgetting other one then bringing out one main with no rice for 45 mins hahaha also v understaffed but overall v cool vibes would give it another chance xx

Service was absolute rubbish. Our table was not the only dissatisfied customers this evening. Wait staff and assumed manager had no idea how to cope with rain. Customers were ignored, first drink took 30mins, meals all came out at random intervals. No assistance when second lot was of rain came through. Food is always amazing but tonight’s disappointing service won’t be seeing us return.

General impression too short staffed at bar … one beer delivered followed by one meal then an I interminable wait for rest of meals and had to ask three times for our remaining drinks order. A couple that arrived after it’s and obviously friends of a wait staff were seated and served well ahead of us which I found to be really unprofessional and given that we had made a point of taking overseas visitors here to experience the wonderful food I was left feeling pretty annoyed. Food as always was great even though we received one meal that we didn’t order and it wasn’t a patch on what wanted to order. Waitress was friendly but not on her game at all. Apologetic but for too many things and nothing really was resolved beyond her apology’s.

This was the first time I visited Hideaway. On arrival I was told to walk through to find my friends. As I had made the booking, this was unprofessional. I should have been shown to my table or at least be given its location. Service was slow. I actually had to ask for a drink. When thefood arrived, it was delicious and well presented.

Lovely Atmosphere !! Beautiful spot. Staff lovely The best food I’ve had in a while dining out. Highly recommend. Brilliant choices and fantastic value. Excellent choices of wine. Very impressed and will be back there for dinner or lunch 😊
