   Celebrating birthdays this year brought us to Hook! While the food was good and very well presented, the service was the best! Our waiter, Kevin, was tremendous in every way! Knowledgeable, friendly, helpful, responsive - everything you hope for regarding a professional!!!! Perhaps some ceiling sound panels will help with sound levels. Ask for Kevin - He is the best!!!!

   The food here is really good, I had the fish & chips and it was absolutely amazing! The bread and butter was really good as well. I have no complaints about my food at all. However, the service was nothing to be happy about. Our reservation was initially for 7:30pm for 5 people, we called the restaurant and pushed it back to 8:30pm. It turned out to be 7 of us, 4/7 got there on time at 8:30, the ones who were there ordered for all 7 of us so that the food would be ready when we got there. I arrived at close to 9 and the food was not ready, not at problem at all. We sat, laughed and talked. We were waited on by two men. One was a tall blonde man with gorgeous skin, he was very nice. The second was a shorter man, I believe his name was Sean because that’s the name on my receipt. He had a HORRIBLE attitude. Literally he made us feel so uncomfortable. While he was printing out receipts he was making smart comments about how we were still there and he was supposed to be gone. Apparently, the restaurant closed at 9pm he was mad because he had to stay late to serve us. If the restaurant closes at 9pm why would they allow a table of 5 to reschedule their time to 8:30? That’s not our fault. I do want to say, nobody else on the staff made us feel uncomfortable or unwelcome because we were there so late. Once they finished our order they started to break down as usual. To the guy with the blonde hair, you’re amazing thank you! To the other server, please do better next time. To the lady who made the fish & chips, we still think about it daily!

   Steak was good. Seafood tower was a huge disappointment. The oysters were tasteless, the lobster was so overcooked it was dry even with butter and shrimp was a nice size but did not like cocktail sauce at all. Our servicer was very sweet and so was the manager. I was there for a special occasion and they treated us so kindly. We probably won’t be back, bummer.

   Food was excellent. The bar and front of house could use some training and work. Hostesses were clueless and not aware of environment and other customers, walked people directly to tables when others are trying to walk out from tables in same aisle way and sat tables on top of one another when we had early reservation and the other half of restaurant was empty tables, which also affected poor and delayed service. We were sat with no menus, then after manager/ maitre D brought menus and presented specials, waited 10-15 mins for someone to come take drink order. Then another 15 to get drinks only to have my drink brought in what was very obviously a dirty glass. The Bar was slow and not sure why it took everyone so long to get drinks. Then since the hostesses sat everyone on top of one another our poor waitress had 4 tables sat at same time, causing delay in service.

    Food was very disappointing. Soup was cold, steak was under cooked. Crème brûlée was cold. For the drive of the meal should have gone to a nicer restaurant for a cheaper price. Shrimp cocktail was the only good thing.
