By far, the best restaurant in the area. I would recommend it.

My boyfriend and I went expecting very nice fine dining for Valentine’s Day. When we walked in there was nobody to seat us and we had to stop a frantic waitress and let her know we’re here for our reservation. The dinner was in a large event hall with about 10 tables on each side of a dance floor, far from elegant. After waiting about 15 min for someone to take our drink order and nobody coming, he decided to go to the bathroom. Our waitress Lindsay asked what I’d like to drink while he was gone and then had to come again when he came back. The first entree was a singular scallop which was honestly the best thing we received. None of the meals came hot or were even remotely to the expectations we had planned. At one point a waitress had brought us our next entree but we still had the last one sitting in front of us so we all just looked at each other until we traded her the plate in front of us for the new one. For my second drink I asked for the HF margarita and our waitress Lindsay rudely let me know that the drinks on that menu aren’t offered tonight. There was a spicy margarita on the event menu but instead of her offering to make a marg similar to the one I asked for since they obviously have the ingredients, the answer was a straight cut no, so I got something else. For the main course, my bf ordered the seafood trio except his meal was actually just a plate of salmon and potatoes. No shrimp & no halibut so not much of a trio. After watching everyone receive a rose at the end of the night with the check, I did not receive a rose. The bill was $350, an ungodly amount for a bad time. We figured after our sad meals and bad service, the tip shouldn’t be more than what a normal restaurant meal would’ve been. While leaving, Lindsay stopped us basically asking why we didn’t tip her more. It was an embarrassing scene that really put the cherry on the cake. Nearly $400 later we’re angry & unsatisfied.

Food was very good. A lot of in came out warm because they were so backed up. Over an hour between course 1 and 2. But that wasn’t a huge deal for us because we liked the slower pace. My biggest disappointment especially since paying +10 per person for “entertainment” … they said we’d be hearing the sounds of Italy to fit the theme. That was a flat out lie and miss-promotion. We listened to bad karaoke throughout the night featuring Italian classics from the like of Whitney Houston and Celine Deion. Very disappointed in that as that was a big reason why we chose here.

We were a party of 4 and wait times were very long for anything...including cocktails. The dinner was served and no one checked if the steaks were cooked properly, all the food served lukewarm at best. When paying $135 a plate it was a costly mistake. After speaking to the manager he made us feel like we were the only people to complain and dismissive, then offered a slight discount. We only wanted good hot food, and drinks. The servers overwhelmed by the amount of tables each had so not their fault. It was stressful, disappointing, and we will never return.

I didn’t realize the valentines dinner would be in the event center. While I appreciate we had a table to ourselves, at the end of the day it still felt like a wedding reception, especially with the band singing Motown classics. Not the vibe I was going for for a romantic Valentine’s Day dinner. I know the restaurant is small, but I would have preferred that experience. Food was excellent.

Epic fail! I really don't think the folks at Horsefeathers have had much if any restaurant experience. The room was set up as if for a wedding - six/eight tops arranged around a dance floor. Every table was set so obviously they didn't plan to turn tables. The muzak was too loud yet we could hear conversations from nearby tables way too easily. The scallop starter was very good. The remainder of the six courses were disappointing. The oysters were not completely shucked. The duck ravioli were overcooked. The lobster tail was stuck in its shell. My "filet" was overcooked. The "lemoncello" cake was dense, dry, and topped with canned lemon filling. The cheapest wine by the glass was $40. Pass! Our only cocktail - an old-fashioned - was properly done, so at least that was acceptable. Service was poor. Our waiter was timid and wasn't very welcoming. He spent most of his time hanging at the larger tables with people who appeared to be friends. However, he hung over our table when it was time to add the tip to the check. The manager barely passed our table, but was busy pitching future dining ideas with one table. For $350 (only $32 for two old-fashioneds) for two one would expect top-notch food and service. We got neither. Then to add another layer of bad, they charged a 3% service fee for using a credit card. I don't know too many folk who walk around with $350 in cash. All in all, an incredibly disappointing evening. We won't be back and will be warning our friends.

Love the ambiance of this hidden gem, from the beautiful wooded drive off the main road to the tucked away bar and grille area that is this cozy place. It sets you up perfectly for all the great experience to come! All of it is awesome, from great craft cocktail beginnings to yummy dessert endings.

Best streak in the area. Cocktails (Old Fashion) is made the “right” way. Perfection.

The food was delicious. We had an appetizer, 2 entrees and a dessert. Nothing left us disappointed. We were seated “outside” on a cold January night in Michigan. This meant we were on a covered patio with plastic walls. The space was warmed via space heaters and each table had a blanket the guests could use. We made the best of it but our toes were frozen. More heaters near the ground would be helpful. Our server was slow and not nearly as attentive as the other server on the patio. We waited for drink refills and felt lucky there were expediters bringing food to the tables. Overall it was a great night. We will be coming back but will insist on inside seating and not having the same server.
