   We have been to Hunter many times and it never disappoints. The the only truly gourmet restaurant on the Island in our opinion. It is upscale in every way but especially in the sourcing, using only the best of ingredients and purveyors. It is priced accordingly but we do not mind that when we are getting the value in terms of the dining experience and Hunter delivers well on that score. They serve a delicious thinly sliced ham as a treat with the tasty bread and butter. The signature French marguerita pizza is a very light appetizer that pairs well with cocktails for the group. The Duck a L'Orange is the best I have had anywhere and the veal chop parmigiana is another favorite. All of the fish dishes are prepared the right way -- retaining the moistness of the fish -- the cod is also a favorite. Desserts are similarly outstanding. The staff is very attentive -- respectful, well trained and experienced. Finally, the restaurant has great ambience - tables are well spaced and the design is very tranquil and relaxing. All in all, a great experience every time.

   Celebrated a birthday and dinner was terrific! Chicken parmigiana was delicious. Cannot say enough good things about it. Looking forward to having it again! As always, Francisco and Leo took good care of us!

   The food, service, and atmosphere at this restaurant are absolutely top-notch! Every dish was packed with flavor and beautifully presented. Truly a 5-star experience—I can’t wait to come back! Highly recommend!

   Dining at Hunter on Thanksgiving could have been chaotic, however it was anything but. We were seated on time, had perfect service from Francisco and staff, and food was outstanding. Leo managed the dining room very effectively making sure everyone was well taken care of. It was a delightful holiday experience. Thank you Hunter, once again for a terrific evening.

   I emphatically love Hunter like no other place in this region, northeastern nassau county. The interior is equisite: warm, sophisticated using natural materials. The service is exceptional and sincere. The foods choices are to wonderful: a seeded bread with fresh butter, the chicory assorted lettuce salad, Duck l'orange, a cod with shellfish, moroccan lamb stew... every one a dream.

   Another wonderful dinner at Hunter. We started with an incredible raw tuna appetizer. Quality of the fish was unbelievable. The chicken meatball special was also delicious, perfectly cooked pasta and a very flavorful sauce. Entree was blackfish..amazing prep with clams and shrimp. Francisco, our server, was great as always. We just love Hunter! ( restaurant and chef)

   Truthfully, I was surprised at the about face from the last few times we dined at Hunter. Let me first say that the staff serving us were extremely good. I can’t say the same about the food other than the Spanish octopus appetizer. The veal chop parm was no where near as good as it was the last time we ate here. I even mentioned to the waiter when I ordered the veal chop parm that I thought it was one of the best around. Well, not Saturday night. The steak my wife ordered was way too salty. One last comment about the food, the apple gallet dessert came out all soupy, disappointing. Like I said, surprised by this visit because it was really good the last fee times we’d been there. Maybe at some point in the future we give it another try, but wil not be racing back. Maybe it was just an off night.
