    Our first time in Vancouver and looking for a good dinner but not up itself. We saw a magazine article reviewing the 50 best restaurants in Vancouver and Hy’s got a silver award for consistently good food and service, plus it had immediate availability. We took an early table and had steak (medallions of tenderloin) and fish (tuna, halibut and scallop). Both were cooked superbly. The service was gracious and friendly; the staff took time to speak with us about the wine and food and made us feel welcome. It is not cheap but represents value for a fine dining experience.

    The entire dinner was exceptional starting and ending with our Server, Sebastian. There was nothing that could have made the evening any more special and perfect.

    We were there for a special Birthday celebration so it was very disappointing that you no longer do anything to acknowledge it. There are many other very nice restaurants that still do, so will go somewhere else in the future. Food was good, other than the baked potato's were absolutely drowning in sour cream, to the point there was more sour cream than potato. Service and ambience were wonderful, but not likely to return based on other issues.

    You'd think a steak house could make steak... But they went 0 for 3 on our steaks. 2 send backs. Our waiter was great and worked with us {made great table side Caesar salad) but that was dissapointing.

    Dining at Hy's in the past was a wonderful experience. Unfortunately this visit was sadly sub par. The issue was the entree's for my wife and myself. Her 8 oz Filet mignon was ordered medium rare and when served it was very much on the rare side. The waiter suggested a reheating and was returned medium and black chard. The manager ordered a new Filet Mignon which was properly prepared. My New York Strip was actually quite thin and not what I was expecting. The presentation was hardly what I expected. The steak was average at best, and certainly not what I expected to be served at a restauran of this caliber. To the credit of the manager, we were not charged for her Filet. The Caesar salad prepared by Chris at tableside was excellent as was his attentive service.

    Ein wirklich tolles Steakhouse. Wunderschön eingerichtet, tolles Essen, perfekter Service. Sehr zu empfehlen. Speisen wurden teilweise am Tisch zubereitet, sehr professionelles Personal.
