Chef Mario Marfia was born in Sicily, Italy and honed his craft working as a chef in the Mediterranean. He brings those culinary and cultural influences to El Paseo in Palm Desert, and the New Downtown of Palm Springs.
Il Corso restaurant offers genuine Italian hospitality serving a wonderful variety of traditional Italian dishes, fresh salads, homemade pastas, wood oven pizzas and delicious seafood. In addition to our regular menu, Chef Mario prepares nightly specials from all over Italy like “the world’s best gnocchi,” and our house specialty, roasted leg of veal.     Service and food were great. We celebrated my mother in laws 80th birthday and they were very accommodating. Food was flavorful, fresh and portions were just right. We’ll be back.

    A truly beautiful restaurant in the heart of downtown Palm Springs. It is much larger than I expected. Our dirty martinis were perfectly made and in generous glasses. The calamari was light breaded and tasty although the spicy marinara was too strong for my wife’s taste. Her salmon was cooked to perfection and my Cioppino was overall very good but most of my mussels did not open which was not so great. Desert was a chocolate torte which was one of the best restaurant deserts we have ever had. Overall an excellent Valentine’s Day dinner experience.

    We had a very nice dinner her on a very rainy night. Everything about the evening was very night. I prefer sitting in the bar area with the fireplace. Other than that it was a nice evening. I had the pappardelle for dinner which had some fried or toasted prosciutto in it. It wasn’t a necessary ingredient which was hard and sharp and dangerous to eat. Texture of plastic shards. Don’t mean to complain. We enjoyed the evening!
