Discover the rich flavors of India at Indian Ocean. They serve authentic Indian cuisine made with the freshest ingredients. We were meeting my sister and brother-in-law for dinner, and our table was ready and waiting when we arrived. We were warmly greeted by Suraz and Ari. The restaurant has a quiet and peaceful décor.
They immediately placed on the table Papadum (light crispy Indian wafers) and two dipping sauces to get us started. BYOB with no corkage charge is always a plus for us. Ari, our server, was so friendly and attentive. A lot of people think Indian food is too spicy or loaded with curry. It is not – here you can request the spice level you want and there are a ton of dishes with no curry.
My brother-in-law started off with a cup of the Mulligatawny Soup (a traditional Indian soup made with delicately spiced lentils and seasoned with mustard seed) and an order of Pakora (fritters coated with chickpea flour batter and fried to a golden perfection) and served with two dipping sauces. He also asked Ari if the chef could make him a dish that had lamb and eggplant with the Tikki Masala sauce, and they did! My husband enjoyed one of his favorites – the Tandoori Shrimp (jumbo shrimp marinated in herb mixture and delicately broiled in their tandoori clay oven). My sister and I had my favorite – the Asparagus Mushroom Korma – a lovely, savory dish of asparagus and royal trumpet mushrooms cooked in a cashew sauce. All of the dishes were served with basmati rice. The portions were generous, so we all had lunch for the next day. Everything was top notch.

Indian Ocean is a real find if you enjoy Indian food. They even give you the choice of "heat" for your dish. Enough food to have some leftovers. They even brought out a wine cooler for our bottle of white wine. Service very good. Decor of restaurant extremely nice and clean.

We have a group of us that go out to dinner every other month. There was one couple who said they did not like Indian food. When we asked why, their answer was that they did not like curry or spicy food. We explained that not all Indian food contains curry and did not have to be spicy. We suggested that they come with us to the Indian Ocean Restaurant. So they did, along with another couple and, boy, were they surprised. First of all, we were warmly welcomed by Ali and Lakman who attended to our every need. They were impressed with the peaceful décor of the restaurant.
We started our Indian food journey with Papadum (light crispy Indian wafers) and two dipping sauces. We enjoyed the following dishes: two Chicken Tikka Masala (boneless white meat chicken cooked with onions, tomatoes, and bell peppers) – three Tandoori Shrimp (jumbo shrimp marinated in herb mixture and delicately broiled in our tandoori clay oven) – two Asparagus Mushroom Korma (asparagus and royal trumpet mushrooms cooked in a cashew sauce) and Garlic Naan (Naan bread topped with fresh garlic and herbs.) Ali asked what temperature of spice we would like – we all chose mild and were exceedingly pleased with all of our entrees. All of our dishes were served with basmati rice. The portions were more than generous. We all had “goodie bags” to take home. Our friends have been converted to liking Indian food. We also especially like that the restaurant is BYOB with no corkage fee. Thank you for a most delightful evening.
