Review summary

AI-generated from verified diner reviews
Jack & Harry's offers "amazing food" with a vibrant NOLA vibe, drawing praise for its "outstanding service" and "beautiful atmosphere." The menu, featuring dishes like the French onion filet and seafood options, is highly acclaimed. While the ambiance is lively, it's often "very loud," which some guests find challenging.

Asked for bread service it never arrived Although I reserved a standard table, we were seated in the bar. Small salads are very small although our spicy Caesar was tasty I had the 20 ounce prime. It was overcooked to medium when I asked for medium rare to medium rare plus. My wife had a thin cut 14 ounce hers came medium rare. When I pointed my temperature out to the waiter I told him it tasted good, but it was overcooked. He said it was good that it tasted good and didn’t offer to cook another one, which is customary at upscale restaurants The horseradish sauce and an added side of ground horseradish still felt short. was tasteless sounds hard to believe Usually, it’s great probably just too busy off night

Fried oysters excellent, bone in tenderloin excellent quality and seasoning, well prepared. Sautéed spinach surprisingly delicious. Drinks also excellent. Service cordial and efficient. Cheesecake also a winner. The only disappointment was the gumbo. I like a dark roux, but extremely bitter. Really dislike the thickener added which left a pastiness in the mouth.

Expect prohibition-themed cocktails and a New Orleans-inspired menu—but do not expect the true taste of New Orleans. The service and ambiance were both wonderful, but the food missed the mark in several ways. During our visit, we tried the following: Chicken and Sausage Gumbo: The roux was very dark and thick, resulting in a burnt flavor. Oddly, it was also sweet, which threw the whole dish off Shrimp Po-Boy: Served as two 3-inch sandwiches, each with one butterflied shrimp. As a New Orleans native, I can say this is not how po-boys are done. That said, the flavor was good. BBQ Shrimp: Seemed to use the same sweet roux as the gumbo. Authentic BBQ shrimp should have a buttery, garlicky sauce—more like a scampi than anything sweet or barbecue-style. Redfish with Rice Pilaf: The redfish itself was fresh and flavorful, and the herb butter was a nice touch. But the rice pilaf came loaded with mixed vegetables and raisins or currants—which felt completely out of place. Oysters Rockefeller: Tasty, but they were heavily breaded, which masked the delicate flavor of the oyster.

Excellent food and service. A Monday night was only moderately loud but weekends are very loud. Extremely popular place. Parking is limited due to construction in the shopping center lot.
