Though Jean-Georges Vongerichten is one of the world’s most famous chefs, his skills extend far beyond the kitchen. A savvy businessman and restaurateur, Jean-Georges is responsible for the operation and success of over 60 restaurants worldwide. Following in his footsteps of his restaurants in London, New York, Paris and Kyoto, Jean-Georges at The Leinster will mark his first foray into Ireland.

Jean-Georges’ culinary vision has redefined industry standards and revolutionized the way we eat. Jean-Georges is involved in every aspect of his restaurants – concept, menu, architectural design, staff selection and trainings – in an ongoing effort to create restaurants that are both timely and enduring. Inspired by his travels, Jean-Georges is constantly developing fresh concepts and evolving as a chef and restaurateur, both adapting to and impacting the global culinary landscape.

Had an absolutely lovely evening at Jean-Georges. It’s great value for money, a great spot for a cozy and intimate dinner. Special mention to Stephen who was looking after us throughout the evening. He is doing an impeccable job!! Would definitely recommend and would definitely go back.

I rarely order steak out as I’m usually disappointed but it was the best steak I’ve had out in years.

Lovely space with great food and good views of the city. However there was cool air blowing rather than warm air which took away from the atmosphere.

Great setting on the rooftop of the Leinster hotel. Exceptional service (thank you Steven!). Food selection suited all tastes. Only small comment was that starter portions were small.

Jean Georges is set in a beautiful room, with stunning views of the unusual Dublin skyline. Service was really good, the only blemish being that a second coffee had to be chased a few times. Also there was no attempt made to take our coats away from the table, which falls short of what one expects in an establishment of this calibre. However at the business end, the eggs benedict was tasty, with good quality bacon and proper potatoes used for the dish. The coffees and green juice were also on the money. This review applies the high standards applicable to a restaurant at the upper end of the market. I will definitely return, but not every week...

We chose to dine at Jean George’s restaurant on New Year’s Eve. When making the reservation on OpenTable we had the option to choose the standard menu or NYE set menu. I chose the standard menu however on the morning of, I received an email to say that the restaurant would solely be operating off the set menu at €135 a head. Whilst this wasn’t what we had planned, we chose to go ahead as it was late notice and we had this reservation planned for weeks. When we arrived at the restaurant there was a large crowd of guests gathered around the entrance to the restaurant holding drinks. We were not greeted by any member of staff and stood there awkwardly for roughly 15 minutes in the doorway with our coats not knowing where to place ourselves. We asked one of the other guests standing if they knew what was going on. She said that they were waiting for the previous diners to settle their bills so they could take their seats. The male host was flying around the restaurant and making no secret that he was under pressure and extremely stressed. He also made no eye contact with us or any of the guests to assure us he would be with us shortly. A few minutes later we eventually got his attention. We advised him that we had a reservation at 9:15 but we were 10 minutes early, to which he dismissed us saying” your table is not nearly ready” and told us to sit at the bar. He didn’t offer to take our coats. I noticed through a glass door a coat rack so I proceeded to take our four coats and hang them up myself. He told me that I was hanging the coats on the “wrong hangers” and that he was going to have to fix them as I had hung them “the wrong way”. This was definitely not the experience we expected to be greeted with in such a restaurant. Our waitress was very pleasant and handled the busy restaurant well. The host might benefit from taking a leaf or two out of her book. The food whilst not to our taste, appreciate it is typical of French cuisine. Overall disappointing.

Hi Aoife, Thank you for taking the time to provide us with your feedback. It is disappointing to hear your welcome wasn't to our usual high standard. On the 31st, we operated two menus, our Al la Carte up until 7.30pm and our NYE tasting menu from 7.30pm to close. Our reservations team reached out to you on the 30th to inform you of the menu available, five days after the booking was made. As mentioned, it was a busy night for the team who still managed to seat your party at 09:07pm. We will be discussing your experience with our Management team and can assure you that we will address these shortcomings and carry out any retraining and procedural reviews necessary. We are grateful for the feedback as it helps us to improve our product and service. Thank you, The Jean-Georges Team

As a Frenchman (and Alsatian), I can recommend this restaurant. The prices are right and the food is good. The meat and fish were excellent and cooked to perfection.
