Borrowing its name from an influential 1850s-vintage bar in the Central Business District, this pub-like tavern (with courtyard) occupies an old brick Creole cottage in the French Quarter, where well-known local bartender Chris Hannah serves up cocktails both classic and contemporary. London-born chef Philip Whitmarsh runs the kitchen.
Accolades include James Beard, World 50 Best, Art of Hospitality, Best Bar South (North America).

From the OpenTable editors: In a brick cottage with blue shutters in the French Quarter, you’ll find one of the best bars in the world, a James Beard Award winner ranked on the World’s 50 Best Bars. Beloved local bartender Chris Hannah shakes innovative cocktails like a curried banana colada or bologna negroni (say it out loud) starring mortadella-infused Campari. It’s worth staying for dinner, to sample half a dozen different types of caviar and unusual cuts like wagyu tongue and duck neck sausage.

We were seated in the courtyard next to a lively large group, the atmosphere was lovely. The whole staff is knowledgeable and helpful. I have a wheat allergy and my waiter hand marked my menu as to what was safe and which dishes might be suseptible to cross contamination. The cocktails are top notch, so plan to try more than one! For our third, we described what we liked and our waiter suggested an off menu cocktail. We both throughly enjoyed our waiter's custom cocktail choice! For starter, the sunchokes with miso were crispy on the outside and soft creamy comfort on the inside. The white asparagus was better than I've had in Belgium and the Netherlands. I had the tender tongue and my husband really enjoyed the Boudin Noir as a main dish.

We had a perfect post parade dinner with the sweetest server! Really fun cocktails, wine and creative delicious fare. A really lovely space and reprieve from the chaos of the quarter, even amongst Mardi Gras revelers. We forgot his name but, the Denver transplant, great service!

Lovely upstairs dining room, intimate yet lively with diners. Delicious and creative dining paired with a well-curated, mid-sized wine list. Very accessible and friendly staff with good attention to detail.

Absolutely fantastic as always! Tried several recommendations from our server Galen and they were all amazing. I’ve never liked rice pudding before, but the Truffled Rice Pudding from tonight is going into my top 10 desserts!

Great server. We were sat upstairs so it didn’t have the nice vibe of the downstairs which was unfortunate. The caviar service was excellent, however the wagyu tongue & trout we did not enjoy. Would not go back.

Everything was really incredible. We came in for drinks and snacks. We had the crawfish and lobster raviolo which was equally airy, decadent, and filling. I started with a traditional Brandy Crusta which was so beautiful and followed with one of the house cocktails, Harlequin, a cachaça and guava drink that was also so so good. My friend's drinks were also perfectly balanced and well executed. Vibes were great, service was great. 10/10
