   My salmon was overcooked. My husbands crab claws were floating in too much butter and grease. Service was good.

   It was a dark and stormy night. No, that's like the beginning of a vampire novel. So... It was at last a sunny evening and my girlfriend had crashed after work. I was still hungry and guess where I ended up? Made an 8:00 reservation and got there a few minutes early. Was told they had a table at my end of the room and I sat patiently as it was prepared. I continue to brag on the hostess stand as they always juggle the crowds with visible ease. Seated and my server was Cookie. I had not had the pleasure before but she was professional, efficient, and was with a pleasant personality throughout the evening. A vodka and soda started my evening. Lemon. Not lime. I had turned down an "elevated" pour of Absolut vodka...meaning this was expensive, so when it came to "wine time", see what I did there, I basically just said to let Ira surprise me and I was served a glass of lovely Belle Glos Pinot Noir. As a lot of you know I am a steak guy and have never had a bad one. The one time it was questionable I had ordered a Strip medium rare and that was my bad. My friend Susan and I have had the Tomahawk. Lovely steak. Tonight the mood was for Chicken Parm. Always well executed. Huge plate coverage ratio. The spaghetti side is just what the doctor orders. This may be my sneaky-favorite dish here. My meal would not have been complete without the Caesar and a side Caesar was devoured. I was offered fresh ground pepper and there can never be too much fresh pepper. There is in some circles a stigma about dining alone. What's wrong with that guy? Why? But I care not. Dining alone gives me the chance, without having to make small talk, view the room, and one of my favorite things to do is view this room. So when it was apparent I was dining alone, I, like Chevy Chase when he knew he had to get the squirrel out of the Christmas tree, said "I'm going in". It was a lovely night. And yes, I had two glasses of wine. Joey D's serves good coffee too. This is my place.

   Shrimp cocktail was outstanding again. Meatballs and lemon pepper wings were okay. The calamari is usually very good, but it was rubbery this time. Overall, a great experience. Steven, our server, was excellent. He was very attentive.

   No wonder so many people in the Perimeter area call Joey d’s their favorite. Great lunch items as well as dinner ones. The corned beef sandwich rivals anything New York City has to offer, no surprise since all the ingredients come from the Carnegie Deli wholesale division which, I was told survived the closing of their famous dining establishment there several years ago. Joey d’s also has fresh roasted prime rib daily for dinner which is my favorite, except for maybe the beef rib. I could go on but you can see I really love this place.

   Ask for dry potato and salad dressing on side. Both were loaded with fixings or salad dressing. Server kept handing me things over the railing instead of going to table to deliver. It was almost comical.

   Food was excellent, best Prime Rib I have had in Atlanta and the one of the Best Filet's my husband has had also. Loved the atmosphere a true New York Steakhouse experience. It was a busy Saturday night and our reservation was at 6 pm. We were sat right away and the service was very good. There were spots during the service where we had to wait longer than usual for things. Our server was very knowledgeable and helpful but everyone was very busy. Will definitely be returing.

    Great experience - food was excellent and our server had lots of great advice - the oysters - house salad and the butter honey croissant all were outstanding- went with the bone in ribeye and it was cooked perfectly- Kind of a drive for us; but earned a spot on the restaurant rotation - will be back
