   When booking through Open Table I was given the option of Standard or Bar seating. Bar seating typically means within the restaurant but at the bar / counter when booking through Open Table. At Joia the bar seating was not in the restaurant at all, it was in the lounge area. On top of that, the menu was not the restaurant dinner menu but instead just a few snacks. This needs to be made MUCH clearer in Open Table, explicitly stating that the Bar seating reservation is in fact not a dinner reservation at all, but really more of a reservation for drinks. My husband and I had booked Joia as a special meal to celebrate our anniversary, and had traveled quite some distance to come to Joia, so this was a huge disappointment.

   Beautiful rooftop restaurant with amazing views to Battersea Power station building and surroundings. But the food was the best with a selection of mostly classic spanish entrees deleciously made, the "croaquetas de jamon" and the "patatas bravas" were the best we have tried in a long time (and we are Spanish so we have tried a lot). We loved as well the "bacalau a brass" and the "pluma de iberico". We finished with a "basque cheese cake" that we totally recommend too. The service was also impeccable and very attentive, they even brought me a small chocolate brownie with a candle for my birthday without us asking for it. We would definitely be back and would recommend to all our friends.

   The location is fabulous and if you’re lucky enough to get a window table, facing in the right direction, the views of the Power Station are wonderful. The waiters were attentive and polite. However, our experience was completely spoilt by the overly loud amplification of the live music, which was barely altered when I asked twice, politely, whether it could be a little quieter. It was impossible to have any real conversation because of the high decibel level. Both of us are professional musicians (one a jazz drummer) so we are both used to being in the midst of quite high sound levels, but nevertheless we didn’t enjoy ourselves much at all because a relaxed conversation was impossible. I wouldn’t go back there until I hear - from another customer - whether they can get the music volume down to a comfortable level.

   We took the lunch menu on Sunday which was okay. It is the standard you may expect. Eating seafood cataplane in Portugal or here is still a difference. Some of the dished really must be hotter when brought to the table. Keep up the good work!!

   Wonderful evening. Waiter was very attentive and helpful with the wine and food menu. Excellent food. It was a friends birthday and they bought out a plate with happy birthday and a cake. Can’t wait to go back!
