About this restaurant

  • Great for scenic views
  • Charming
  • Good for special occasions
Welcome to The Jolly Fisherman, Craster. Combining stunning sea views with delicious home cooking and beautifully kept ales, this is a tastefully refurbished pub with tradition and character at its heart. We’ve taken great care to retain the charm of this historic pub with stone flagged floors, low beamed ceilings and comfortable seating. In the winter months, you can relax by one of our roaring open fires and in the summer enjoy the view from one of the most spectacular beer gardens in Northumberland.

What a find! Friendly pub overlooking the sea with spectacular views across to Dunstanburgh Castle. Delicious food, recommended the soups and the mussels. Would definitely return.

We had a dog so sat in the bar area. Perfectly suitable and relaxing. Great service and delicious food. We opted for the scampi & fish cakes. Both served with chips & fresh side salad. We’re always sure to eat here when we’re up this way.

Overall very good, only very minor criticism is the bread on the sandwiches, which in my view is a bit thick. Other than that the quality was excellent as was the service and ambience

Our second time here on a visit to Alnwick and explored the surrounding areas. The food here is lovely - I’d recommend the Ploughman’s. Great service, a full bar and views of the sea whilst you eat. Basically everything you want in a seaside pub. It’s not exactly cheap but I would say it’s worth what they charge. I’d go a third time for sure!
