Jordan Pond House, a restaurant and shop with a long tradition within Acadia National Park, sits on a hill overlooking a beautiful lawn along the Jordan Pond. Guests have been enjoying these amazing views and dining at this site since 1893 when Nellie McIntire, the first proprietor, started baking and serving her famous popovers out of the restaurant. Ever since then, we have been serving popovers and tea.

Please note: Reservations may be made for inside dining only. Due to weather variability, we are unable to accommodate reservations for the lawn. Please inform the host at the time of your arrival if you would prefer outdoor seating, and we would be happy to accommodate your request, pending availability.

Review summary

AI-generated from verified diner reviews
Jordan Pond House offers "amazing popovers" and scenic views in Acadia National Park. While the lobster dishes are popular, the "blueberry lemonade" and popover sundaes steal the show. Reservations are recommended due to long wait times. Service experiences vary, but the beautiful setting and iconic popovers make it a memorable stop.

Overpriced! The tea and soda were watered down. I got a $27 bowl of lobster bisque that looked to be the same size as the cup of soup my son got. The menu was extremely limited compared to the one I had found online with just popovers, 2 salads, 3 soups, and 3 sandwiches to choose from and nothing else. It was also FREEZING COLD in the restaurant on a chilly fall day. I’d recommend getting lunch in town and bringing it into the park. This was a letdown.

It took a month to get in and it was worth it. I had frequented the pond house when I was young (35 yrs ago) and I had been wanting to get back. It was as good as I remember. Staff got us in earlier than our reservation time, waitstaff were friendly and welcoming and the popovers and jam are the best I’ve had! Definitely worth the visit/experience.

Our popovers were delivered to us without the tea, and by the time we got our tea, they were cold. We also asked for more jam, but didn't get it in a timely manner

Food was fair. View of Acadia was great! Overpriced for what you get but it’s what you expect from a tourist spot.

Service was terrible, the sodas were flat and bad, the kids pb&j was on rye and not kid friendly, the lobster rolls weren’t great, and everything was extremely overpriced. Do not recommend.

Awesome food and ambience. What tainted our experience was the poor service provided by the waiter. She was very sweet and nice and I'd like to think she was just having a bad day, however, she needs to do better. Our order was delivered incomplete and the remaining food items took an additional 10 minutes to arrive. She 'disappeared' for stretches of time that seemed too long. After asking the waiter servicing other tables if he could find her, we finally received our check. She then disappeared again only to return later to state that the card reader wasn't working and she'd have to transact our bill at a register inside. That's fine. Stuff happens. But, she never returned with the bill or my credit card. I had to walk into the restaurant and request that someone find her. I eventually spoke to a manager who later came to our table with the check and credit card. We never did see the waiter again. I do not enjoy complaining and I'm not very picky, however, I expected better service. I hope our waiter's day got better. As for me and my family, we'll have a pleasant memory of the experience overall but it will forever be tainted with the shadow of the poor service. Won't recommend or go back to this place. Packing a picnic for next time and skipping the restaurant

Popovers were underwhelming although the ambience made up for it. Gnocchi was fine, Brie was good

It was a beautiful fall day in the park and ended with a late lunch at Jordan’s Pond! A table fireside with delicious Lobster stew and the famous popovers.
