    Josephine's is becoming one of our favorite spots in Old Town Alexandria. Great service. We usually sit at the bar and the bartenders are the best. The restaurant itself is gorgeous with plenty of quiet spots for conversation. Food is great. The menu is small, which means the food will be better quality. We went for Thanksgiving and could get the traditional meal or go with our favorites.

    As long as Josephine is open on Thanksgiving, I will never cook Thanksgiving dinner again. The food was excellent, service delightful, and the ambiance wonderful. We ate in the small dining room downstairs.

    Almost everything were on point except the salmon confetti, supposed to be thinly sliced smoked salmon instead we got a paste like salmon and it didn't taste smoked at all. I enjoyed the duck and the chocolate cake dessert. Our server Michael was wonderful.

    Fabulous restaurant with great drinks and kind / attentive staff. Escargot, steak frites, and espresso martini are probably the top appetizer / entree / missed drink in our opinion (as semi-regular customers) but everything is reliably good!

    The restaurant has one of the best colonial interiors in Old Town—very cozy in an elegant way. The bar area is a great place for happy hour. The seating area on the left side (not the bar side) was quite chilly, although it was a very cold night. I eventually had to put my coat on. The food was a bit disappointing—somewhat bland, especially the gougere appetizer. (We had Beef bourguignon.) Would like to have seen more options for French red wine by the glass. (Did not view the full wine list.) Service was not up to par—had to ask for several things such as water refills, desert menu. We will try one more time and order something else—the ambience will bring us back for another try.
