Justine is a brasserie in New Orleans’ historic French Quarter. Opened in 2019 by husband-wife team Justin & Mia Devillier of La Petite Grocery, Justine combines the sophistication of Parisian brasseries with the playfulness of the South’s most lively district. Featuring dishes like Mussels, Escargot & Steak Frites, the menu honors the technique and simplicity of French classics, while evoking the senses with exciting, grand presentation. Other seafood and steak favorites include Shrimp & Grits, Pan Roasted Red Snapper, Shrimp Remoulade, NY Strip & Hanger Steak. True to the heart of French brasserie culture, the bustling, multi-roomed restaurant offers a versatile space to be enjoyed by all, whether it’s for a weekday lunch, afternoon glass of wine or celebratory dinner. The café side opens to the Chartres Street sidewalk, emulating a quintessential Parisian-street experience with daytime fare. The kitchen is led by James Beard Award Winning Chef & Owner Justin Devillier.

Excellent all the way around! Pork tenderloin and mussels were delicious. The chocolate ganache cake was divine. We’ll be back!

We had a pretty good experience at this restaurant. The service was really fantastic and we loved our server. She was great and made the evening for us. We read through numerous reviews before going and heard about the problem of things either selling out or just not having them that day pretty early in the night, and I have to confirm that this is true. Something actually sold out from when we sat down to when we ordered, and to be honest, it was the only main dish on the menu that I was interested in, so that kind of made the rest of the meal a bit blah. It is not a big menu, so when numerous things are sold out, it really limits the choices. They really need to figure that out, especially since it seems to be a common trend in reviews. Just don't go in with expectations of a particular thing you want to order, cause they could be sold out or just not have it for some reason. The food was totally fine, nothing mind blowing but very good. Not sure I feel the need to return but it was an acceptable meal and experience.

We arrived at Justine’s early and we were seated in the back of the restaurant. I asked to be seated in the booths before you get to the back but was told no as there wasn’t a server assigned. the lighting in the back is a bit bright and initially gave me the cafeteria vibe. As we sat there i did realize there was only 1 server for all of the back.. As the night went on and the food came out everything we had was exceptional, except the onlon soup. The broth was weak it needed more flavor and salt. I rarely salt my food especially food with cheese as it typically is salty enough. My husband ordered the Burger. It was by far one of the best burgers i’ve ever had. I ordered the shrimp and grits the flavors throughout the dish were superb and really gave the grits an amazing flavor. My daughters ordered the chicken dish which they raved about!! Our server Taylor was very attentive and checked in on us throughout the dinner! She suprised us with a complimentary dessert!’ it too was out of this world!! I’d go back and highly recommend this restaurant

Fun ambience and good food were unable to compensate for dishes that took forever, and on Christmas Eve. There was no coherent communication about what was going on, even to the people next to us who asked to speak directly to the manager. our server was nice and apologetic, but they could only do so much.

We had a great meal at Justine. The green salad, shrimp and grits, and peppermint sundae were delicious. It was a colder night in New Orleans ( 57 degrees on Christmas Eve). I don’t know if they don’t have heat in the restaurant but I wished I had a coat on and the couple next to us complained about the cold and kept their down jackets on all night. It really was not that cold but I was surprised.

Forgot about us multiple times; food was mediocre at best for the price. They were folding napkins on the floor while we saw our food in the kitchen and waited for it. 4 people folding; 1 person waiting tables & bartending. We saw the kitchen manager tell the staff our toast was burnt but still served it with our burrata. My kids are part-time wait staff on the Westbank. This would not be acceptable at an establishment in Gretna much less on Chartres for $250 +. It was actually comical. I never complain but this was nut-so!

Very disappointed they were out of 4 of the dishes we wanted. Shrimp and grits arrived cold. The chicken was yummy but small. We were still hungry so ordered the toffee dessert only to be told they were out. We went to another restaurant for dessert as we were still hungry. I would skip this restaurant for next time. Food was ok but not excellent enough to want to return.

Great food, great service and great ambiance! We started with the French onion soup - amazing! I had the hamburger which comes with a small gravy boat. Probably one of the best hamburgers I have ever eaten. My daughter had the pork tenderloin with fingerling potatoes. It must have been wonderful because she used my fries to clean up the reduction. She had the crème brûlée for dessert and it was good. Service was top tier! It’s not cheap, but it is typical for the area. Definitely recommend!

We've been to some excellent New Orleans restaurants this week, and we've been to countless others during our travels. Justine sits right up there with the best of them. A welcoming ambiance with interesting paintings and murals. Great wine and cocktail list. A short and sweet menu that says the chef is working on their best dishes for you. Our waitress Taylor treated us like long lost friends. The music was upbeat yet smooth and romantic. We highly recommend Justine for a place that wows your taste buds and feels like home away from home.
