   We had an enjoyable dinner - the food was delicious! Background was a bit noisy at times but tolerable. Will definitely visit again.

   Never a bad choice to dine at kindred. Tea was flavorful and the short risotto. Wonderful lunch.

   We were sat right away and had our choice of tables as the restaurant wasn’t very busy. The server was attentive and took our drink and food order after giving us a few minutes to decide. I have been here before and had the panzenalla salad and beef risotto and was looking forward to them again tonight, however the salad had no cucumbers and the tomatoes were overly ripe, and the risotto had an overwhelming number of pearl onions in it which is not listed as an ingredient on the menu and the last time I had this dish it was very different. The server also asked my husband if he wanted ketchup with his pizza which we found puzzling and when I watched him make my drink he had to ask one of the managers(?) what went into my drink and I heard her say ‘don’t worry about it, that syrup is the same color so it doesn’t matter’. That was off putting as I would hope that a $17 drink would have the exact ingredients in it that are listed. My previous experiences here were wonderful and last night fell quite short of what I had previously experienced.

   The atmosphere was nice, but the two top tables were too small to fit food and coffee for two. We had the mushroom pizza and french onion soup. The pizza was fine but the soup was terrible. It had very little flavour and the texture was awful. It was like they put bag cheese over a cup of breadcrumbs. The conventient location is the only reason to dine here.

   My boyfriend and I dined here before a concert. We were expecting food and service comparable to Braven (one of our faves), but the restaurants definitely have different vibes. The food recipes themselves had potential; that said, my shrimp in my shrimp linguine were over cooked, and my boyfriend’s chicken parm was undercooked. I also added truffle to my meal for $6.00, and there was no sign of any truffle (neither truffle oil, nor any flakes etc.). Our appy (steak skewers) and dessert (tiramisu cannoli) were spot on. It did seem like our entrees were a bit underwhelming though. One thing that seemed apparent was that all of the staff seemed very new. As someone who has worked in the service industry for more than 10 years, it seemed like most of the staff were still becoming comfortable with their positions. Maybe the restaurant recently hired for various positions, which I know can be common in the fall. Between the hosts, food runners etc., I think the team as a whole needs some time and practice familiarizing with guest interactions. The atmosphere was quiet and beautifully decorated. Our server was kind and attentive, and overall did a great job. I would try Kindred again in the future - bearing in mind that it is a much more casual dinning experience than Braven, its more elevated counterpart.

   Made a reservation, got seated quickly. This was prior to Game 6 of the western conference playoffs, so it was busy. Food was fine, but service was unacceptably slow. It took a long time for a server to take our drink and food order (placed both at the same time)...then we waited. Our food came out before our drinks. We ordered a couple appetizers, but had to ask for plates. We were going to order more, but no one came by at all to check on us. Server said that they were understaffed and apologized...but the JW has to do better.

    We stopped by for supper before one of the West Final NHL games. Although our waitress was fantastic, they were just way too short-staffed for an Oilers game day. They had one bartender working, which is not enough during a game day. We had a pizza that had no sauce, and I wouldn't care to try it again. I am glad we stopped by, but I probably would not go back. Nothing special.
