I discovered Koya Houston on Instagram, and it immediately caught my eye with its upscale and fun vibe. Although I noticed the reviews weren’t as high as I typically prefer (I usually stick to places with a 4.5+ rating), I decided to take a gamble while in Houston for Thanksgiving—and I’m so glad I did! The restaurant is absolutely stunning, and the atmosphere was great, though it wasn’t too crowded—likely because it was the day before Thanksgiving. We started with the wings, which were perfectly cooked and delicious. For our entrées, I had the lamb chops, and my husband ordered the sea bass. Both dishes exceeded our expectations, and the drinks were on point too. Our server, Carson, was the highlight of our visit. His service was exceptional, and he went above and beyond by offering us two complimentary shots each and even giving us a tour of the speakeasy, which was such a fun touch. We’ve been traveling through Miami, New Orleans, and now Houston, dining out each night, and while Koya was the most expensive restaurant we’ve visited this week, it was absolutely worth it. I’d recommend giving it a shot despite the mixed reviews online. We left happy, full, and truly impressed!

This is one of the best restaurant I have been too. The ambiance was top tier. The filet mignon was tasty and the potato purée, Mac and cheese were so good. I will come back for sure 😍. The female DJ was the best of the best.

Koya is a place where I’d recommend everyone to try out at least once! The food was really good and had flavor to it. The waitress was very nice and made our experience even better with how she treated us! I would definitely go back again.

What is described on the website is not guaranteed experience in the actual restaurant. You have to walk across the street for the valet. If you’re running late for your reservation, you can’t speak to anybody in the restaurant and answering service picks up and schedules a call back. The answering service doesn’t have standard knowledge of the late policy for a reservation. Nor is that information available on the website.I asked to speak to a manager three times. That never happened. The customer service was very poor. Koya is not upscale at all as the website presented. Overall I would never recommend anyone to dine here. Our reservation was for 8:45 we were not seated until 10pm the entertainment was already done performing. We were served tap water. For three drinks and one meal it was $160. The best thing was the espresso martini. My sister and I shared the chicken. For $60 it wasn’t the Cornish hen. The chicken was dry. Whoever is actually running this restaurant should reconsider the way things are done. Maybe research quality service and experience. The speakeasy was playin like trap music. And the bar chairs must be from Temu because they were very wobbly. The service in the speakeasy was so horrible. We were ignored for the most part. I had to get up and walk to the other side of the bar to pay the bill. The whole experience was wrong. My sister came from out of town to visit and it was her actual birthday the night we had dinner. They didn’t even bring her a scoop of ice cream to celebrate. The sever asked if we were celebrating and he was told. And that note of her birthday was attached to the reservation. It was anything but a special experience. The manager NEVER came after asking three times. Koya really needs to work on things.

It has fabulous ambience but I didn’t love the added fee’s. To spend almost $400 on dinner for two with no entertainment in today’s economy is a bit pricey.
