For private functions or parties of up to 12 people, the traditional Tatami room is ideal for an unforgettable evening. Please note, there is no minimum guests for hiring this room, but there is a $600 minimum charge. Guests are required to choose from either a $69 or $89 set menu. Sit around a rectangular table, where all your family & friends can all see and interact with each other while they indulge in our Taste of KUMO special banquet menu that boasts the best and most popular dishes. We had the taco and sashimi plates - both were superb. We also found all the staff to be friendly and extremely helpful when choosing the food. The restaurant manager was knowledgeable about the wines they stock and in discussion with her we were pleased with our choice. Can't speak highly enough of the people and the place!

We came in on a Saturday evening and it appeared the kitchen was quite overwhelmed and illequipped to deal with a full-ish restaurant. We ended up having to wait about 50 minutes for our mains, which was less enjoyable. Also, it seemed they were understaffed on that evening, which meant that it was difficult to gain anyone’s attention to order drinks to make the wait for food less painful. Silver lining was the exceptional quality of the food.

We have been here a lot and the past few times the service has been awful. We waited for over 40 minutes for gyozas while people who came in after us got all their food, the chicken came out cold and we got our starters last because they forgot about them? Really disappointing. This place used to be our go to in Brunswick. Won’t be going back for a while now

We always enjoy our meals at Kumo in Lygon Street. The grilled salmon and the eggplant were wonderful as was the Pinot Blanc!

The food was beautiful. There were 7 of us so we ordered the Omnivore Signature and it was more than enough for us. The staff were fantastic. A bit noisy and a bit expensive but overall a lovely night and we would definitely go again
