We recently returned to La Mar, and I’m happy to say the experience was even better than before! The service has noticeably improved—staff were attentive, knowledgeable, and made us feel truly welcomed. It’s clear that the management values feedback; the manager personally acknowledged past suggestions with warmth and professionalism, which made a great impression. Of course, the food remains outstanding—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Every dish was a delight, and the ambiance perfectly complemented the dining experience. It’s refreshing to see a restaurant not only maintain high standards but also strive to improve. We’ll definitely be back again!

I just need to preface that I love Peruvian food. I spend a lot of time in Miami, where Peruvian food is abundant. I frequent the local Peruvian joints around the Northwest. So I'm very familiar with this type of food. Which leads me to say- I was excited to try La Mar when they opened in Bellevue. Their reputation is stellar. I booked a table for two on Valentine's day and it was great. For the most part. Food was delicious and the chocolate cake for dessert was amazing. What let me down a bit was I didn't know they were serving a Prix Fixe only. Regular menu not available. But, ow well there were so many things on the menu so I thought I would be trying a little bit of everything. Wrong! We only got to pick one app and one main...for $135! I was a little shocked with this menu and price. $135 seems an enormous amount for three courses. By the way, our table was in a location that didn't allow much room for a pathway, so my chair had been bumped and kicked about 5 times up to this point. Very bad design. Anyways, I chose the hamachi Poke for the starter and the shrimp chiferos for my main. Both were very good, but I just didn't feel the value was there. The dessert came afterwards and that was five star amazingly delicious. I want more. We were eventually moved to a better table after I complained so finally I could relax and eat but not before 3 more collisions into my chair. Overall, 3-stars because of the overpriced menu and terrible seating design. However, I will be back to try the regular menu. I think the prices are a little more reasonable on there. And I definitely want more chocolate cake.

Came here for Valentine’s Day dinner and I was charged a 20% large party fee for 2 and was never made aware of it beforehand. Future customers beware before dining here!

Their set menu for valentine days online was not the same as what was provided during dinner. The Maine lobster, which my gf really wanted, was removed and the waiter did not seem bothered about this discrepancy. It’s disappointing as I expected a high end restaurant to not make this mistake or at least try to remedy the situation. To the manager: ensure the menu online is up to date, as this experience could have been 10/10 if we have known.

Total scam from the beginning $135 each person 48 hrs cancellation charge I should of realized that was just the beginning. Don’t get the $32 pisco it’s just in a more beautiful glass the $17 standard is the same size! 2 ppl reservation automatic 20% tip and the waiter grabbed my card and charged it before I finished reviewing the bill. I’m still mad! I’ve been to Peru many times and they take advantage of their people like that there and try the same scam here. Don’t get tricked!

Seated us in the middle near the noisy bar and kitchen despite many empty tables in more desirable sections. Rude staff who didn't care about customers.
