   Went there for a soft opening when it first opened to work the kitchen and training the staff, and it is just as great today as it was in 2008! Couldn’t finish the giant octopus so I ate the leftovers for breakfast and it tasted just as good. Amazing go to restaurant where there is something for everyone! And a stunning waterfront restaurant as well. Cheers and enjoy ~

   We were here for my wife’s birthday. Food and service were excellent! The black cod was outstanding. One of the best meals we have had in SF.

   Service was excellent and the chocolate cake was one of the highlights of the evening. We sat outside which was very toasty however my son was noticeably uncomfortable as he was directly under the heater as his face was red and he was drinking a lot of water and crunching on ice the entire evening. Entire meal overall was pricey and although the dishes were meant to be shared, we had to order doubles of some dishes as it didn’t fulfill our appetites for a family of 2 teenagers and 2 adults.

   My best experience at La Mar so far, Daniel D was outstanding and make us feel so pleasant during our whole experience. We were celebrating a birthday in our party and the staff and him made it so special. We will be back for sure and ask for him. Dinner service is always exceptional and food was delicious , support staff were also amazing.

   We sat outside with a view of the Bay. Although it was a very cold day, the heat lamps were ample to keep us comfortable. The food was excellent. My favorites were the rock shrimp in squid ink tempura and the dessert, whose Spanish name I forget. It was a delicious, moist cake with whipped cream. Service was quick, friendly and attentive. Much to our surprise, it was SF Restaurant Week and the fixed price meal was a great choice.

   Bartender very distracted & distanced…drink & bar assistants excellent. Food truly amazing as always. I know it’s all about the money, but stuffing so many people together in a very noisy dining room is not fun.

    The menu is super eclectic! Flavor combinations are amazing. Colorful and creative menu. Nigiri Nikkei is so interesting and wagyu nigiri is a must! Octopus is sooo good! Tasting Menu was great!
