Come dine in this beautifully restored Uptown restaurant on Magazine Street and enjoy James Beard Award Winning Chef Justin Devillier's contemporary Louisiana Cuisine.

The La Petite Grocery name pays homage to the history of its home, a building that’s stood for more than a century. The original structure was built in the late 1800s and called the Central Tea, Coffee and Butter Depot. In 1908, a fire devastated the space and it was transformed into a full service grocery store. Later it was most notably a fine foods and butcher shop, VonderHaar’s Fine Foods until 1982. When La Petite Grocery opened in March of 2004, they similarly aspired to provide the neighborhood with exotic teas, locally roasted coffee, and fresh produce. By doing this, we hope to provide a dining experience that evokes nostalgia of old New Orleans. Reservations are preferred.

                                                  There are very restaurants in New Orleans that compare. The food at LPG expresses deep and sincere reverence for Louisiana tradition without ever feeling stuck in time. The ingredients are top notch and flavors are bright and balanced. It's absolutely fine dining with the service to prove it, yet manages never to feel fussy or pretentious. It's cozy enough for a romantic dinner, and energetic enough for a celebration. We couldn't love it more.

                                                  The space is much bigger than it apears from the street, but it was still quiet. We appreciated that it was easy to have a conversation. The food was great; the beet salad was refreshing. We had reserved for a 60th birthday celebration and had asked for dessert to be brought out as a surprise; it came out with a candle and it was complimentary, which we were not expecting. Our server was attentive but not intrusive. La Petit Grocerie was a great choice for our special night out. Thank you!

                                                  I’ve always loved Le Petit Grocery and the ambience, drink and food are excellent. I have to say that my Shrimp and Grits was very, very greasy this time, absolutely swimming in bacon grease but that is so very unusual I have to think a chef trainee prepared it. The rest of my group had a wonderful meal and we all enjoyed ourselves.
